Our coaching staff is simply not good enough right now

Totally disagree with your characterization of Kehoe. Since he has returned, every OL he has coached has gotten steadily better, some by a lot.

I remember when Howard, Jimmy, Butch were average though.

No you don't. Howard was NEVER considered average at Miami. Never.

Jimmy wasn't considered average. Jimmy, to everyone and the team, was an unknown - but never considered average. Big difference between unknown and average.

Butch? Both Jimmy and Butch graduated from Arkansas. Both coached at Oklahoma State - JJ a head coach and Butch an assistant coach.

Butch was the DC under JJ at Dallas to win two Superbowls. Butch had some critics as the 31 scholarship losses kicked in that one year, but he quickly reached #2.

You can call Butch average if you want, but you're full of shiznit to claim that Howard was EVER considered average.

Now. Fabricate something else. Al.

You're right, I don't get it, but not too worried about it. I just rolled with it, just figured there was something wrong with the OP's emotional state. Not really in on all the inside jokes or interested in being. Getting "trolled" on a free board is not something that will set me back in the least bit. Thanks for sharing.

You're only as good as your last game and that unit failed miserably against Louisville.

Average coaches don't get Temple to be a 9 win team. They just don't. By my calculations he's above average.

They do when those wins are against Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Army, Toledo, Navy, Miami of Ohio, Akron, and Kent State.

Something temple coaches prior to and after Golden haven't been able to accomplish. Just sayin

Being the tallest midget is not an accomplishment. Golden recruited his pants off and had talent on par with or better than those opponents. In a conference with so much close quality, the smallest talent advantages usually lead to wins.

Steve Addazio did and he even won a bowl game the year after Golden left.

After that year, Temple left the cozy MAC (to their sorrow) to rejoing the BigEast. They didn't fair so well, but that's not surprising (neither did Golden until his team went to the MAC) considering the upgrade in competition.

Of note, they had two common opponents each year. PSU and Army, both similar margins of victory in both cases and OOC games. They managed to win both against Army with two losses to PSU. Take out the MAC opponents, insert BigEast, and you've got a pretty crappy record.

Seems like age old problem,Recruits and players make the coach or the other way around.Myself for the most part
players make the coach;case in point Dennis Ericksen.Man wins national championship and still cannot hold onto
job.

If Jay Gruden was here our fan base would scream the 'He's never proved himself!' mantra over and over. It's old & played.

SMH...(freakin offseason threads)
