I can agree with that. Light years ahead of Mandy. But the bottom line is Matt Campbell is better than Mandy…Period…End of story.

But he's not doing it 3-5 times a year.We faced 1 team this year that had more talen than us
and we lost that along with 4 others.
if you want to nitpick and pretend that my usage of the word "consistent" means EVERY SINGLE TIME which is wrong and clearly not what I meant then fine.
but several (3-4-5) times per season he's beating teams that have more talent than him. that's called "consistent"
I provided 6 years worth and you're talking about this year to prove a point lmaoBut he's not doing it 3-5 times a year.
He beat Okie St. this year. They are more talented. But lost to Oklahoma, Baylor, and Iowa. So, no, not 3-5 times a year.
The Al Golden comparison is a poor one. Temple was kicked out of the Big East for being so bad. The program dropped to G5 and joined the MAC, and Golden padded the schedule with weaker OOC opponents. Temple had one minor East Coast bowl game where they played a bad UCLA team tough. The names Temple (bad) and UCLA (good) made Golden’s reputation. He never beat anyone of consequence at Temple. The name is Steven.....don't be a disrespectful. Have an adult conversation.
The argument isn't what he has done FOR ISU and where he has brought them from because the same argument could be made for someone like Al Golden and what he did at Temple.
The argument is "Matt Campbell consistently beats more talented teams". And that is simply not true since 2017. 2017, ISU was great and Campbell was an up and coming young coach. But since 2017, they have not consistently beaten more talented teams.
that's the argument. now prove that argument wrong with W-L's.
"more talented teams"
2021 TCU more talented?
2021 Texas more talented?
2020 UR Baylor more talented?
2020 UR Texas Tech more talented?
2020 UR WVU more talented?
2019 UR TCU, UR UWV, UR Texas Tech all more talented?
Get outta here LOL.
Have you been to Ames? Almost every team on their schedule is more talented than ISU. The past few years have been different because of a QB, TE, and a RB. They’ve had seven players drafted in the past 10 years and he has beaten Oklahoma twice. He may not be flashy but his teams are well coached and compete every week. The name is Steven.....don't be a disrespectful. Have an adult conversation.

In an earlier post, I shared all the wins and losses that ISU had against teams ranked higher than they were. There wasn't a consistent pattern of wins vs higher ranked teams since 2017. I was just using 2021 as an example meaning "2021 is like all the other years since 2017".I provided 6 years worth and you're talking about this year to prove a point lmao
you said he hasn't done it since 2017, he has.
you're being petty which is fine. but you're also wrong about it
100%. He hasn‘t had to outcoach a better HC/team very often. In Riley's defense, while at OU, he had the most talented team in the conference so it would be hard for him to consistently beat more talented teams.
And it's going to be the same song for Riley in the Pac-12 especially when Mario comes home.100%. He hasn‘t had to outcoach a better HC/team very often.
0-3 in the CFP (vs $EC), 1-1 vs Urban/OSU, mostly because he struggled to build a competent defense and OU wasn’t as physical.
According to recruiting rankings, all except Texas Tech had more talent"more talented teams"

Agreed. I live in LA, so my insufferable USC friends are going to be worse. And it's going to be the same song for Riley in the Pac-12 especially when Mario comes home.
yeah, because all the recruiting rankings agree on each prospect. That's why I used poll rankings. Poll rankings are way more accurate than recruiting rankings. Unless you really thing Mark Pope is a 5*.According to recruiting rankings, all except Texas Tech had more talent
I wouldn’t think he‘d be interested. I don‘t buy into the ‘Miami guy‘ routine but think Campbell is like Fickell. A Midwest guy who’s next job is a bigger B1G job or ND.We would be foolish to not make a run at Matt Campbell
Recruiting rankings for single players is a crapshoot. When it comes to team rankings, they’re a pretty decent indicator for overall team talent and results.yeah, because all the recruiting rankings agree on each prospect. That's why I used poll rankings. Poll rankings are way more accurate than recruiting rankings. Unless you really thing Mark Pope is a 5*.

Lmao you gotta be trolling at this point . Pitt and NC State were both ranked higher than us when we played . Are they more talented than us ? Did we “beat a more talented team” when we played them because they had a ranking next to their name ?yeah, because all the recruiting rankings agree on each prospect. That's why I used poll rankings. Poll rankings are way more accurate than recruiting rankings. Unless you really thing Mark Pope is a 5*.
You’re the only one saying “higher ranked” he said more talentedIn an earlier post, I shared all the wins and losses that ISU had against teams ranked higher than they were. I agree. But on a different post I said, poll rankings is probably the most accurate way to gauge talent. I mean, recruiting rankings isn't unless you think Mark Pope is a 5*.You’re the only one saying “higher ranked” he said more talented
Higher ranked does not always = more talented . It’s a pretty simple concept to understand
