OT- Oregon asks UCLA for permission to talk to Kelly

Chip Kelly was 46-7 with, with 3 Pac-12 titles, plus a Rose & a Fiesta Bowl.

He took the foundation that Mike Bellotti laid & turned Oregon into a winning program that could contend on a national scale. Helfrich took his team to the National championship against Oh St in the first CFP ever.

Of course they would try to bring him back, he just lead UCLA to their first winning season since 2014.

what he did at oregon after bellotti was incredible and he gets absolute props for that, but that was almost a decade ago. he had a unique scheme and tempo, and the rest of college ball hadn't adapted. current kelly has coached 4 years at ucla and has 2 wins over teams that have finished better than .500 over that span. 6-6 lsu under orgeron was his best win this season. plus, ucla wasn't a complete dumpster fire after mora either. they were mediocre to bad and just kind of floundering around like us over the last few years. 8-5 in 2015, 4-8 in 2016, and 6-7 in 2017 got mora the boot.

Oregon's a more talented team than UCLA and it's a fresh start on a brand new contract.

Watch for Dave Aranda to UCLA if Chip leaves...

Aranda may even be in play for Oregon. He's a West Coast guy who would be a good fit to return.

If so, bring me Jeff Grimes to the Gables.
