OT - Narcos Mexico 2

I couldn't get in to that show

took a rewatch to enjoy...very far fetched. Too far in to turn back. Like SOA...I just couldn’t get into it. Not believing that 10 bikers can handle the AB, IRA, Cali Mexican gangs, and Cali black gangs...

If they continue on their current trajectory, the next season or two will basically be a blood bath. The Arellano-Palma/Chapo wars are gonna be something different. Amado's story, especially his ending, gonna be crazy.

The first few Narcos about the Medellin and Cali cartels were pretty well done.

These two Mexican ones are not as good. Season 1 of Mexico was just ok, the second one wasn’t as good. As mentioned previously they take a ton of liberties with actual events. Which I understand it’s a drama they have to sometimes do that, but Felix didn’t even order Palma’s family death.

The thing is, I think in the Mexico series they try to sanitize some of the characters. Give some of them redeeming qualities. For example, Felix almost comes off, except at the very end, as a mild-mannered bureaucrat most of the time. The guy was a stone cold brutal killer. But he doesn’t come off that way for most of the series

Enjoyed it, but they really changed alot of stuff from how it really went down. I know they've always done that, but they took it too another level this season. For instance, what happened to Palma and his family was far more gruesome in reality and wasn't orchestrated by Felix. lot of ppl complained about how Chapo is portrayed in the series, but I think they've gave him some good and surprising depth this season.

Pacho is the hardest dude in the entire series.

I'm wondering if they're building up to Enedina, which would put them in current timeline. I wouldn't mind them getting out of Latin America eventually and start looking at drug trafficking from other countries.

i loved when Chepe counted down in salon.

pacho was an animal but I wish they showed more Popeye during the Escobar portion.

I had this exact conversation with a good friend of mine who is originally from El Paso. Spot on.

In the end they’re all just nasty, low class, unredeemed stone cold brutal killers that would butcher your kids or grannies if it somehow met their needs.

Absolutely. Wired in a different way.

Black markets give these pieces of excrement their chance to thrive. Without prohibition, you'd have never even heard of Pablo Escobar.

When you think about it, almost every single one of them got to the top spot by assassinating a mentor or close friend who put them on. No loyalty in that game, which is why one of my favorite moments -- even if dramatized -- was when Felix is going in on Palma about being weak and Palma's like "yeah I am, but don't kill our boy Cochi". Rare loyalty (also displayed by Chapo on the show).

john Gotti once said there’d be a day when they missed a criminal like him. They spent so much time to take him down but they never reached brutality like you have today.

the game is undefeated, has no friends, and treats everyone like ****...the game is king.

Bruh, I'm spoiling it for you a little, but Felix makes this same speech at the end of the season and I was like "did they bite that almost word for word from Gotti?"
