OT - Narcos Mexico 2

In the end they’re all just nasty, low class, unredeemed stone cold brutal killers that would butcher your kids or grannies if it somehow met their needs.

While I agree, it was far more civilized (lacking the proper word here as they weren't exactly civilized) than the time after Felix. There wasn't the same brutality you saw after the vacuum was created when he fell. He's almost portrayed as a pushover in this latest installment, but in his time, his word was close to that of a God in that country.

He basically united an entire country of cowboys doing their own thing into a cohesive group, somewhat like the mafia did way before him. He then took the power from the Columbians and a large portion of their distribution for much of the country. Rather than just some middleman making peanuts, he changed the game.

Guy was smart as ****, that I'll give him and saw things before those he worked with even realized what he was doing and how it would go after it was done. Top level government access allowed it to happen, but again, he set all of that up before those agencies even knew what he was doing and were now in too deep.

Oh yeah, Narcos is one of the best shows on TV right now. I agree with most here I liked the Columbian's seasons better. But Mexico is good! I have enjoyed both seasons.

Did anyone else find themselves pulling for Escobar in Season's 1 and 2?

Its the first of a trilogy the second one is the Cartel and the final is the Border, power of the dog is the best one though
I've read 13 of Winslow's books. He is one of my favorite authors. Somehow, I missed The Border. His writing on the drug series is solid.

I'll read the border and also re-read the other two.

I'm that weird dude that like Season 3 the best.
Same, I like Seasons 1 and 2 a lot, but they really missed the mark with casting a Brazilian actor who spoke no Spanish prior to playing Escobar. Also, Pacho, Chepe and the two brothers are probably one of the more intriguing groups in the series, but back to Pablo. There's a series, Patron del Mal, that's basically a soap opera filmed in Colombia about Pablo Escobar's life. The main character has the same look and annoying ranting voice that the real Pablo had, it's almost comedic at times. There's even some Colombian actors on that show that show up on Narcos (The old Lady from the the Salazar family, the guy who played Navegante, one of the Castano brothers (the guys who were fighting in the jungle from FARC)) The production value and dramatic plot twists of Narcos are pretty amazing, but I gotta say that the casting on the Narcos Mexico seasons was much better in terms of getting accents and backgrounds right. I believe this one is all a build up to Season 3, a lot is about to go down between the Sinoloan Cartel and the Arellano Felix fam.

People apparently didn't like the first season, but I thought the first two seasons of BCS were the strongest. Then again, I love the "come up" story. It's partly why I prefer the Godfather II.

whats better call saul about?.
