OT: Lincoln Riley Is A Scumbag

I actually can't recall allllllll these kids you say were denied by the admissions department. We (like other schools) usually just won't offer or take commitments from kids that are questionable academically- but even that "standard" has been extremely flexible with us. See Trayone Gray, etc.

The rest of our argument mainly centers on what Lincoln Riley CAN do here versus what he SHOULD do. And the "should" isn't just a right/wrong type of deal but a big picture one with him and that program too. He's riding high right now but this kind of stuff can also bite you pr-wise and that can eventually translate into recruiting-wise. Seems like a pretty small potato type of deal for him to be willing to take the negative blowback over that is coming.

Difference of opinion on that. Nothing more.

im fine with the block. but im a win at all costs kinda guy, unlike most people.

besides, this is how rules get changed and progress is made. if enough people get upset, you'll finally see something get done.
Me too. I feel maybe he’s hedging to win it all this year and then bolting. Because long term it’s not a good look and could affect recruiting.

Hey that's ok. Riley can't stop that. But Riley gon do what Riley can do and I don't blame him.

Whole lotta feminist snowflake soyboys in this thread.

Lot of closet Oklahoma fans in here, from the look of it.

Oklahoma is going to take a step back this year. They lose almost their entire offensive line, they're downgrading at QB, and they still don't play any defense in that conference.

Miami with Tate Martell wins more games than Oklahoma next year.

Not to a conference opponent where he could hurt your chances next year not to mention he has knowledge of your playbook.
If Oklahoma is as good as they think they are, one player can't hurt them. It's a sucker move.

frankly he wont win and we all k now it but understand it. its In conference to a team play all the time. teams don't want guys going to schools that are on schedule or in conference its why always got blocked before. but frankly riley will lose and public sentiment will force ou to withdraw this block we see it every year

Spot on.

The crazy thing is the last part....Spencer Rattlers family thinking it is cool....well lets see who enters the portal next year and Riley grabs for QB while his 5 star rides the pine.

You benefitted from Baker getting an extra year of eligibility, but you're gonna stop a grad transfer (that you're trying to actively replace) from leaving unless he loses a year? I get it since they play each other, but still a scumbag move
******* scum bag

I don't like it for the player, but there's a major but here.

I would block the **** out of anyone I could if they were on our schedule. The only exception to that would be for a legitimate family reason.

My job is to win. My employer has invested hundreds of millions to do just that, win.

You, the transfer, could be the best young man in the world, but there are 100 and more teams you could play for. Just business friend.

Its not on coach Riley, its on the Big 12. Its a conference rule.

The smart coaches in the SEC, ACC, PAC12 and Big Ten should use this as a means of recruiting Texas kids away from the Big 12. "Why sign with a school that puts more restrictions on you than the marketplace itself?"

This should end up costing every program in the Big 12.

I can't wait for hurts to play 5 games be booed by fans cuz he can't push the ball downfield and be subbed out by Spencer R. I wanted Martell over hurts anyways but he should've gone to MD nobody would've competed with him this will be an Alabama 2.0 situation
