I wish I was as woke and righteous as Kap.

"...Among them are claims that workers at a Nike contract factory in Hansae, Vietnam, suffered wage theft and verbal abuse, and labored for hours in temperatures well over the legal limit of 90 degrees, to the point that they would collapse at their sewing machines. Nike is also accused of cutting jobs at the Hansae factory and pulling production from a factory in Honduras with a strong union presence, resulting in hundreds of workers losing vital jobs..."

Guess all lives don't matter equally.

On a professional level, he was essentially insubordinate. We would assign him a Dolphins sidebar story and he would do an opinion column on a completely different topic (even when we had already assigned multiple columns). Didn’t abide by suggested story lengths, and typically would then get very mad when we chopped his story.

On a personal level he would routinely take over our internal message board to spew his brainwashed political views. Even when the message board topic was something as simple as “it’s too warm in the newsroom.”
Whenever I read his work I get that vibe of he's just too into himself. I also remember the Charles Harris draft he leaked that pick and Tankersley and he wouldn't shut up about how he was right and hpw everybody knew the leaks but were being quiet so other writers started arguing with him smh just a **** show

True enough but, it isn’t the law in the land everywhere...and neither is it the law of the land in your house. And you still haven’t shown me where it states, “not in the work place”.

We don't interpret the Constitution in a literal and strict manner. There are implied powers that the Constitution grants. We factor in what the intent of the framers was at that time and what were the prevailing attitudes were at the time.

Lest we forget the irony of his white natural mother, and his second white adoptive mother raising him in the golden suburbs - and his subsequent Kardashian-looking 'muslim' girlfriend who inspired his 'movement'. She hooked him into the 'movement de jure' and now he's unemployed. I hope she was worth it.

Lol@ people that feel that if you don’t salute that flag, you don’t love your country...
It's also silly to protest injustice but protesting symbol that lets
One of the most American thing you can do is express your First Amendment Right with a peaceful protest
Absolutely. People also have the right to disagree with you and protest against you, if they don't like your opinion. Wearing a Castro shirt in Miami will cause that in South Florida.

He's a big Che fan. Every millennial whose anybody will tell you how awesome Che was.

Fact: when he was killed in Bolivia (reported on orders from El Jefe Fidel), he was wearing a ROLEX.

Yes, the original woke man of the people.

Kaepernick has moved well beyond football. He's got 40% of the country absolutely terrified of him, and it is the 40% who can't distinguish lies from truth. If that doesn't qualify as a win, then I don't know what does. Kaepernick now owns decades of relevancy ahead, instead of scant years if he had merely been a quarterback.

If a franchise had understood that signing Kaepernick in the early stages of this controversy would have placed them on the right side of history, and they would have been applauded for that down the road, then it would have been an astute move, including for the Dolphins. The Castro stuff fades into the distance compared to being on the right side of history. But since so many NFL franchises are run by SAM types like Jerry Jones, you can't expect them to understand anything except here-and-now fear.

Now I know why the great Cane Dynasty **** on you so much. Holy ****, you’re s self-important donkey. F U and that **** *** QB Kaepernick. He sucked the minute the 49ers all world defense retired.

Go Canes!

In an odd rambling consciousness, I agree that history has it eyes on the old white NFL. For better or worse Kap woke people. Do I want him as a QB, there’s better options. But no doubt the times are changing, in our nation, politics, and our athletics. As our country embraces diversity, so must our national sports. Not recognizing it is like ****ing in the wind.

Herald columnist Armando Salguero took to Twitter to respond to Dolphins fan Jeff Culp who suggested that the team bring in Kaepernick as a “stop-gap” quarterback. But Salguero disagreed saying he’d “rather have Satan at QB.”

People are passionate about that topic one way or another.

I suspect most are pro salute/pro respect.

I've often asked folks who are anti-Old Glory or anti-US two simple questions. The looks on their vapid faces makes my day.

If Old Glory is so triggering, such and awful symbol, if the US is such a rascist country, then why live your life with US dollars? Why be COMPLICIT, dare I say a FULL ECONOMIC SUPPORTER, of the very life blood of what is despised so greatly?

I usually have a soda and popcorn as I watch their heads pop off their shoulders.

It's a gift.

This! I was a community organizer, and people don’t realize how these SJW organizations operate like cults. They are not consistent in their beliefs. They applaud Kap for rightfully protesting oppression and applauded NIKE when they supported him. Forgetting the fact that Nike enslaves a whole race of people in Asia, pays them dirt wages, and robs children of their youth. They type their support on phones and keyboards created with conflict minerals where men, women, and children lose limbs to find mine for these minerals.

I stopped caring when I realized the conversation was never really about oppression but dismantling capitalism. It’s rather simple if you want to end oppression then let’s be nice to each other live out in. The woods, farm the land, have no technology, crap in outhouses, and die of easily curable diseases. Or accept that if we want to be selfish and live with level of comfort then someone somewhere will get screwed.......now let’s go talk about our canes!!!

SJW is cancer

It is. I saw it firsthand. I was very involved not just at the local level but nationally. However, I think the SJW days are numbered
oh easily I really think it contributed a lot to why trump even became president because the left and sjw movement go hand in hand essentially Isolating actual Democrats or centrists.

I wish I could agree. But sjw days are just beginning unfortunately. We now live in a snowflake country of emasculated men who face no external threats or common hardships, we're now turning on each other.

Nah bro I’m 22 you’d be surprised how many people my age think it’s a joke.

I give a college campus as an example with the “rape culture”. If the statistics of 1/4 women are be raped or sexually assaulted while in college were true no one with a daughter would send them to college lol

I agree that the “snowflakes” are here to stay. But the reason why I believe they ultimately won’t succeed in the grand scheme of things, is because they are too disjointed. There isn’t an actual leader. The labor movement fights amongst themselves. The environmentalists fight labor unions. The feminists are busy attacking all men not of color in position of power. The Latino and black rights groups don’t trust the rest of these groups. The reason we talk about them is because they are loud and make noise. But they really don’t agree on much. It’s why we got Trump. The infighting of 2016 proved what they are after power!

You’re hitting on EXACTLY the challenge with him. He is a tuned-in Dolphins/canes beat writer. He is NOT a columnist and is not the end-all/be-all when it comes to perspective.

He’s sort of the Peter Principe personified.

Kaepernick = a below average QB that is an overall poor voice for his cause but is absolutely being blackballed by the NFL.

Armando Salgero= a reflection of a lot of Cubans over 40 in South Florida. Verrrry willing to rage against the blatant stupidity and insensitivity of Kaepernick in relation to Castro while also wearing MAGA hats while conveniently ignoring our current President's desires to do business on that island yearrrrrs ago when Fidel was in full form and would've personally benefitted. This is usually also accompanied by a willingness to excuse his affinity for other dictators/authoritarians across the globe as they scream "Fidel was our Hitler!".

Carry on if you must, gentlemen. We live in the dumbest of times where hypocrisy abounds. I blame the Boomers.
