OT: Ivins Kicked out

these 247 writers are reporters looking for a job correct?
I mean didn’t one of our own cis staffers get hired by gators 247?
I’ve always been suspect of ivins after a comment he made on the big 3 roll up.
When cmr was putting together storm 18 he said something on the big 3 roll up like “I have no idea how or why they are signing the guys they are. They just signed Brian Hightower who is from California. A guy they should have no business signing”
I couldn’t believe he was saying that. I know it’s hard to have a reporter be an actual fan but ****.
I also don’t trust 247 at all. The way they’ve down played everything from everyone else but but blow up anything that happens here is so obvious.
The Grace and AQM thing was front page on the 247 home page for like 10 days.
The fact that the founders of those sites are all sec grads makes it even more suspect.
You basically have a monopoly on a lot of recruiting information controlled by sec fans.
You think saban or Kirby doesn’t get on the phone over there and asks what is this kid saying what has he told you guys?
Also what a dumb *** thing to say that he won’t give a kid a good review for som sht he had nothing to do with.
Never knew he made that comment about Hightower. I'll have to go back and listen to that episode. Was he trying to say we are dropping bags or what was he trying to allude to?

Need credentials. Get them. End of story. Two adults arguing like high school kids on social media is a joke.

Ivins needs high school football players and coaches more than they need him. I think some of y’all are salty because Ivins is your sauce for information.

idk about that. Players really benefit a lot from what the services provide.

I think a lot of y'all would be surprised at how little coaches actually do for players to get them to the next level.

Also, I think many of you are giving the coaches a pass here...you don't think Edwards knew about this? C'mon now.

I read that coaches Twitter feed. He'd be fired in a day if he coached where I grew up just based upon his posts and likes alone. I am not saying he should be one way or the other but does his feed seem a little aggressive seeing as he's a coach of teenagers? Like would it **** player's parents off?
In South Florida youth football circles, guys like this are hailed as heroes. That’s part of the reason it’s such a toilet of corruption. The adults have let their egos get so far out of control that they’ve made it about themselves and what the kids can do for them. If these dudes were coaching in New Hampshire they’d be 0-10 every year.

It sounded like he believes we weren’t a program that should be signing elite players. I don’t know what his intentions were. But he made it seem like Hightower and the rest of storm 18 were signing with Toledo.

This is MNW we are talking about. Ivins isn’t uncovering diamonds in the rough that ESPN, CIS and college coaches don’t know about.

From him last comment (the coach guy) Ivins can’t get them because the AD is butt hurt over something and not returning calls

Yep. And you have two adults benefiting from high school players arguing on Twitter like imbeciles.

I don't think that is what he meant...hence why he deleted the tweet. But, if he can't see them play, how can he recommend them to anyone?
Respectfully disagree. He said he may be less inclined to write a glowing review on a kid because of this.

So if a kid deserves a glowing review, he may not do it because he’s still salty at the coaches?

Even though it’s not direct statement to that, the inference is obvious. And in his profession, that’s a no-no.

Can you imagine a future article on a NW kid? If it contains negative, he’ll have people saying he’s biased against NW. if he writes an article and he’s effusive with praise, people will say the kid isn’t that good he’s just trying to make up with NW.

Bottom line now his statements on NW kids will be subject to more scrutiny.

You aren't wrong...that is how his post came off...but again, I don't think that is what he meant.

Then he gets no access. Lots of us on this site say players that are SFL traitors should be blackballed. If MNW think Ivins did their players wrong, maybe they are blackballing him.

As a Canes fan I didn’t know he said this and it bothers me and shouldn’t say that being a reporter. But if this was off record he’s correct, we signed a top 10 class with the top RB and WRs it would be something we’d question as Canes fans if this was a team like Nebraska who has won multiple championships but hasn’t had 1 real great season in 15+ years.

Then flat out tell him he’s blackballed and he probably won’t make an effort showing up. Instead he gets and invite from coaches and shows up and gets treated like he’s blackballed. They need to stop with this passive aggressive 💩. Who’s 15 to 17 years old the players or coaches? This is women ****.

He definitely got heated and said something really dumb, then was like "oh ****", and deleted it. But yeah that's was really dumb to say.

Both sides are wrong. It’s not in your kids best interest to **** off someone that could give the lesser ones more exposure. No need to embarrass him with the police escort.

Ivins is wrong for saying he will now punish any future NW kid because of the coaches/administrators. He’s lost his objectivity now. We knew that journalists write favorable or negative stories based on personal relationships but now we have written evidence of bias. I can get being upset but he crossed the line with that comment.

This x1000. Spot on.

The school, the coaches and the police all look like delusional clowns here but Ivins just messed with whatever professional credibility he had too. F*ckery all around. Coaches that suppoooooosedly only have the best interests of their players as priority one f&cking with someone that can diminish the shine on said players and Ivins actually threatening to do it because adults treated him poorly.

The South Florida high school football cesspool will never change.
