OT: Ivins Kicked out

He knew all last year that some sort of action or miscommunication caused him to be black balled for an entire season at MNW...

instead of constantly sending request for credentials knowing theyre not ******* with you, why not reach out to see if him and the AD could have some sort of meeting to clear up whatever issues need to be addressed?

my question is why doesnt the AD swallow his pride and allow a known reporter to report on their kids. isnt that the most important thing -- the actual kids?

First page bro...

Ivins tweets that he was ALREADY turned away all of last season at MNW... your going to tell me that one of the major D1 factories he isn’t trying to visit as often as possible??

So this doesn’t sound like a new issue and one that he’s been trying to get over.. you can’t be a south Florida 247 reporter and be missing out on such a large scoop

I’ll say it again... this doesn’t effect the 5star and 4star kids... but those kids who have a shot at D2 at schools in Kansas and out west who are curious about south Florida and want some quality kids lose out on that exposure of being able to grab measurements.. notes on the player because they simply don’t have the budget to send coaches to recruit

THIS. the known prospects don't need 247, but their teammates who aren't going to make it to Miami, FSU, UF, etc. need any bit of exposure they can get to help them land an offer anywhere. a free ride to a school to gain a college education is gonna help them more than some beef between a random useless AD and a reporter. whether or not, people like 247 or ivins doesnt matter, coaches and schools still use it and look at the profiles they do on certain players. if it gets an unknown prospect into college and he balls out and makes it (howard being the most recent), then ivins or anyone being there on the sidelines helped.

Lol love to see your tantrum if you got police escorted in front of a crowd of people some you might know... from a FREE PUBLIC practice

Nah no tantrum here...I don't do those little tantrums. And I also don't overestimate my self importance, nor would I hold it over high school student athletes heads like that. That some unprofessional ****...Take your ball and go home Ivins.

I think Ivins was mad bc his white privilege didn’t work on that day. Lol some of yall act like police officers are on the Miami Northwestern payroll... his *** got kicked out because of whatever business he didn’t handle correctly, that’s his issue to deal with.

He was mad because it's an ongoing issue.. It wasn't the first time the AD essentially blew him off. Why? If there's an issue, address it. I am Not defending anyone here because I think there was "stupid" by both parties. But if the coaches invited him to come, I could see him thinking that was his in. Seems like he figured he didn't need any other permission. That was my take. It wasn't a spring game; it was an intra squad scrimmage open to the public. As for "Da Warden" getting involved, he should have put a lid on it , too.

He definitely should not have shown up without clearance. They can always use that against him. He didn't have permission to be on a public school campus.

How about someone ask the coaches? They invited him......... sounds like a big disconnect within their admin too

Man shut that solve his issues like a man face to face stuff up. First, He was told by the coaches to come. Second, He sent the AD emails. Third, He came to the game they could've addressed him like a man he came to their Spring Game. Just like High schools blackball College football coaches from their players... Ivins can do what he feel he wants to do when it comes to MNW kids. If the coach loved those kids he would've kept his mouth shut. Who the heck threatens a 24/7 reporter with violence? Ain't nobody scared of people from Miami.

So that means the administration is incompetent of doing their job. If he email the director of coming and the email isn't answered how is he operating in the best interest of those kids? Are Grown Black Men weak they can't tell a reporter "No you can't come". Now, You have this man come all the way to the school only to be told it's a no go. That's Strike two. Now, He buys a ticket goes into the stands only to be escorted out at a Spring Game. That's strike three. So nobody is coming at MNW sideways they dropped the ball period. I know you gone rep yo city, but MNW from the Administration on down pulled some passive aggressive b**ch moves period fam. The "Privileged White Boy" should've been told from jump he's not welcomed here.

I mean sure, if Ivins wants to handle his business on twitter like pre-teen chick on the rag, more girl power to him, I guess.

If I had a problem with a customer I wouldn’t put it on Twitter, but I guess I’m a dinosaur.

youre a dinosaur. you can easily get on twitter and complain and end up getting free **** from companies. far easier than dealing with customer service agents

Smh at some of these comments. Seriously some these mindsets need to die off already to move forward. Idk how some of this **** automatically goes to race. Yes the admin at MNW is incompetent and they happen to be black. That does not mean because they are black they are incompetent. Ivins is a reporter that happens to be white and was told to leave. That does not mean he was kicked out cause he was white. Some of you white guys and some of you black need to calm the *** dwn. The narrative doesnt always "fit" your dated and misguided points of view.

That’s different.

No chance of that here. Twitter is great for customer service issues (sometimes) .. I’ve used it to lodge complaints with an airline, for example.

Twitter sucks to settle personal beefs. And that’s what this is, a personal beef between 2 or 3 people or a small group

INVITED BY THE COACHES. Get your facts right before you get into your feelings.

How am I in my feelings? Look I said he was probably invited to the scrimmage but wasn’t given permission to be on the sideline. Dude threatened to write something negative about the students. That’s an issue. Don’t take it out on the kids. You really don’t see anything wrong with that? This is an issue he needs to handle with the adults.

I already took a deserved shot at Ivins but it's laughable to say 247 or any other recruiting sites don't mean anything to a school or especially the kids. I WISH they didn't have the influence they do but alllll local kids today absolutely value their exposure on them to a point where it seems like some care more about stars and publicity on them than some actual offers or incessant "love" from our coaches, etc.

And the point that others have made about these
things hurting the 1 and 2 star kids is absolutely true. One can't ignore those kids now but then white knight for Puke when he's attacked around here by saying he makes THOSE kids his priority.

All that said, it still was a total ***** move by Ivins to make that threat and if 247 is even remotely interested in its reputation they'll have a problem with it.

Why didn’t Ivins make sure he got word from either the HC or AD before hand?? A lot of “why not and didn’ts” in the situation..imo it sounds like something personal

You don't see how that's kinda confusing? If he gets invited by the coaches but the AD doesn't respond? If the AD didn't want him there just grow some balls and tell him he's not allowed and why. AD also needs to tell his coaches not to invite him.

Nah, I’m with Ivins on that. Nothing against the kids but the MNW administration should be ashamed of this.
Ivins should be ashamed for being a media member and not being able to distinguish a kid at a school from the school itself. That's nonsense you mention a glowing review for a kid there to a all star game... hoe ****. Kids have nothing to do with this. I understand both points. But none of it involves his job towards these kids.
