OT: Hugh Frieze - definition of scumbag

So, here's the thing, and you are free to disagree.

1. Hugh Freeze is an adulterer. He broke his covenant vows with his wife that he made before the Lord. He's guilty. He's a sinner.

2. Hugh Freeze and his wife have reconciled, he has confessed his adultery (I mean how could he not, it was national news), and his wife has forgiven him.

3. Since Freeze was humiliated and left Auburn, he has reconciled with his wife, and has sought spiritual counseling from the pastors/elders of his church. And that means something. Men who are not contrite, remain prideful and they will not submit to the leadership of the church. But Freeze has submitted to the leadership of his church.

4. the DMs that Freeze sent to an alleged sexual abuse survivor at Liberty Univ. was not wise. And if I was his pastor, he would be placed on church discipline for this. Were the DMs inflammatory? No, but still not wise. Married men should not be sending women DMs on social media unless it's their family member (i.e., daughter, niece, aunt, sister and etc).
Now should all of this keep Freeze from the coaching profession? No. He deserves to have a living, and if a school wants to give him a job, he's welcomed to take it.

The dumb thing was using that university phone.

For all we know, he very well could've had the consent of his Wife. She may have even been a participant. We don't know, stranger things have happened, but even if the Wife knew or was involved the right thing to do is take it on yourself.

Me, I don't care one bit what someone does behind closed doors. Want to get mad at something, go with the lying to recruits, but how truthful any coach is with the pressure they face to get the job done is anyone's guess.

Freeze is a scummy dude but he’s not done anything illegal. The issue is guys like him never change their stripes, so it’s more of a matter when he does something at Auburn. Not if. Kinda the gamble you gotta play hiring him.

Fair enough, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. We can’t have Charley Manson as a representative of our university - even if he were a Vince Lombardi-Lincoln Riley hybrid.

Maybe your personal line isn’t using the company card to hire hookers for 17 year olds or intimidating rape victims into silence - but if some people do draw the line there, I wouldn’t begrudge them.
 
Hookers and Blow? Just don’t get caught.

Covering up arrests? As bad as assaults and rapes? Crossing the line. You‘re done. Not aware of such allegations against Freeze. More like Urban and Art Briles.
