The data reveal an entirely different picture than one would have from afar and not being familiar with the area. It seems to be more than a sleepy college town.

It's actually a temporary position so I won't be moving my family with me and will be driving back home some on the weekends. I was thinking of living somewhere a little closer like Lake City.

Your best bets are west of 75 or north of NW 39th Avenue.

If you wanna go old school, head down to Micanopy, it's where they filmed Doc Hollywood.

It's not a great town for non-college-aged adults who don't work for UF.

Good insight. I'll be working for UF but I'm just coming to work and go home. No extracurriculars needed.

I'll be moving from Tuscaloosa to Gainesville area. Somewhere north would cut down my travel time home.
