Some threads on this site makes me embarrassed to be associated w this fan base. It’s also y I’m becoming increasingly less engaged on the main board as opposed to times past. Consider this one of those threads. Sometimes I understand y fan bases criticize this fan base as being the worst, & I’m constantly reminded when death, tragedy hits other schools just how deranged some of ya’ll r.

In fact, after I make my last myth buster thread for this month, u’ll only catch me in the shoe thread, & PMs…I think I’ve had enough of CIS.

I see total disregard of human life.
People think life is a video game.
I personally believe it’s the dissociation caused from being chronically online and the disgusting cesspool that is social media. It presents a total false sense of what’s real and should be done and what’s acceptable. This causes young people to lash out in different ways because they think their situation and feelings are completely unique to them and them alone and no one else understands.

It also doesn’t help that there are no repercussions for anything. No strong parental guidance (father figure or other life coach/techer) to rely on. Then you have teachers that are completely underpaid and powerless to make any type of impact.

Sad state of current affairs

My buddies took me there for my 18th birthday.
One of their dancers was 400plus pounds and I got pushed on-stage with her when she learned
it was birthday. She put my head between her hooters and next thing I was jumping off stage like my hair was on fire.
I believe she was the same stripper in the movie "Porkies", so this was my brush with fame. Lol.

Reminds me of our first time at a strip club a club pink pussycat iirc in opa locka. We were recently turned 18. Ol lady got up to stage, nobody tips and she proceeds to tell the DJ to stop the music. She then scolded everyone “I may be old but you still gotta tip!” Or some nonsense. Good times.

Remember the shooter in the tower at the University of Texas? These tragic cases aren’t new, just their frequency. Ultimately hold the shooter responsible, but mental health issues, social media, easy access to weapons, and other issues are contributing factors.

Don’t look for a solution anytime soon.

Sadly, the situations only serve to polarize many of us.

Alright, I don't necessarily disagree with you.
The acts these losers commit are certainly evil and demonic, but I still think there is a mental health issue in play because even evil people didn't do these acts.
Here's the thing, demons or no demons ,the person committing the act is still responsible. Mental health will not be a legit defense when you stand before the Lord's judgment seat.

Not making excuses for the Texas Tower shooter, but I read somewhere that a tumor was found in his brain when his autopsy was done, with several doctors stating it could have been a factor in his shooting. Apparently he had been getting increasingly erratic and violent leading to his shooting. Again, not an excuse for his actions, but I found interesting.

Yeah, paid visit to the pussycat as well. Some of the strippers worked multiple clubs in the area. Always cracked up seeing some of the older Cuban dad types showing up in shorts and slides as they were just sitting in their house watching sports and told the wife they were running out to get milk or something. Lol.

All of this.....I was at my buddy's house and his 10 year old kid, who plays video games all day, was playing this game where he hunts snipers. My boy bragging about his kid shooting a sniper from 3000 yards like he hit a home run in little league. I'm pro Second Amendment but I found this off, odd and a little disturbing.

I am, as well, and owner. But guns and gun lore is so over glorified on a daily basis from all angles, and not all people process this equally, as JamesQuall alludes to. Young people grow up with no filters for what guns actually do - they end a life, and it’s only realized after the fact.

And as expected, the Gov of Florida posted on X that he was sending his “prayers to…”. Every time I hear that same useless phrase in the context of people being murdered it drives me insane. When that is all the elected leaders can or will do, that tells me that either; a. Nothing can be done about mass shootings so lets just accept it as a fact of life, or b. Our political leaders have their hands in too many special interest pockets to do anything. In either case, when I hear the same useless words from a political leaders and zero action, I believe the next action is to remove that leader at the next election and demand more from the next. And I couldn’t care less about party affiliation.

Either do something about it, or get out. As to what to do, that is the debate, but the debate must be had outside of special interests groups. But I do agree with the Michigan case that held the parents responsible because not knowing that your child is so f*cking crazy as to commit mass murder should be a crime, especially when you buy him the weapon as they did. It is obviously trickier with a 20 year old but again, if that was my son, I would know if he was that crazy and I d*mn well would not let him have access to my gun. And that is doubly true if I was in law enforcement.

Students & people in general shouldn't have to live with the fear of possibility being actualized at any given moment by going to school/anywhere in general & parents shouldn't have to be praying that they won't have to bury their child for just being in a public place at the wrong time. **** is depressing.
I work in architecture. ******* tired of having to design for active shooter situations

And there's a difference between "excuse" and "explanation". Charles Whitman was a 25 year old Marine vet who had been physically abused by his father. For the 1960s, it is entirely possible that the tumor went unnoticed and undiagnosed.

He also killed his wife and mother (stabbings) prior to the shooting. So, yeah, the guy was a mess. No excuse. But it's possible that the tumor explains how he mishandled his emotions and ended up in that tower.

I’ve often said we wouldn’t have nearly the amount of violence in the world, both currently and historically, if there was more religion.

It's said, true enough.

But there are plenty of other countries in the world that are not as religious (real religious or fake religious) as the US, and those countries don't have nearly the same issues that we do.

CIS is a reflection of today’s society Rell. I honestly scroll past 90% of the posts on these boards. I think I can speak for many when I say we’ll hate to see you contribute less. I never skip your posts!

I have a graduate degree from FSU (yes, it sucked going there, but there were reasons and I’ve always hated their football team) and I also graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Something is seriously wrong in this world. This will be what FSU is associated with for years and years. It happened with Stoneman Douglas and it hasn’t stopped 7+ years later. A scarlet letter that stains the school and its reputation forever.
