OT: Dolphins 2nd/3rd Round Draft Picks

B+ Draft so far. If we would have gotten Nathan Shepherd it would have been an A. Not the biggest Jerome Baker fan. Would have preferred Genard Avery. NYG and SF took two guys that I think Miami wanted in Lorenzo Carter and Fred Warner.

You guys will complain about anything. Goedert cant, and doesn't like to, block either and that was against FCS players. Herndon will be an in-line blocker while his route-running and receiving abilities develop first two years. That's not something Gase wanted. They wanted someone to fit the Y-ISO that Gase loves to use and Gesicki was the perfect fit. Offense will resemble the 2014 Broncos with Gesicki being used like Julius Thomas.

As much as I HATE the Jets, they're still recovering from the fiasco Tannenbum left them. I hope that Grier and Gase have more say in the draft and personnel decisions overall.

The culture change we need is at the top. Tannenbaum has been here since 2015 and our roster is littered with holes. We have no identity. We reach for need every year, and then create new needs with bad picks.

Suh was physical and feared. We replaced him with Jordan Phillips, a soft loafer. Landry was a dog who set the tone for the offense. We replaced him with DeVante Phillips, who is weak, and Stills, who is a deep ball specialist. Ajayi was a Pro Bowl power runner. We replaced him with Kenyan Drake, who is athletic but brittle. Ajayi won a Super Bowl.

We had one of the worst run-blocking lines in the league. Gesicki is one of the softest TEs in recent history. We drafted a LB whose weakness is “toughness.” Alonso doesn’t thump.

We are a finesse team with no playmakers. Our coach is an insecure loser who can’t deal with Alpha players and needs yes men. We will miss the playoffs again, and I only hope Ross finally wakes up.

I'll agree somewhat D$. Tannenbaum needs to go and I honestly think he's out the door soon. Grier looks to be spearheading a lot more but he needs to go as well--no recasts. Start completely new. The team had no identity when Suh and Landry were on the team. We weren't going to miraculously find players that had the same or equal skillset/mentality and then suddenly the team turns around. We reached for Minkah and Gesicki? Looks more like they took BPA and then best player that fills a need which is what you're supposed to do. Baker is a reach but there are no more, and there never really was any in this draft, thumpers. Jerome does have some strength and has knocked down some OL in the film that I've watched.

You meant DeVante Parker not Phillips. He was already on the team, hes not replacing Landry. Wilson, better speed, and Amendola, similar physicality, replaced Landry. Suh was feared and physical yet our DL still was behind the ball. They're targeting Jonathan Hankins to replace Suh if I'm not mistaken. Ajayi really? Not going to even try.

They drafted Minkah who is the leader of INT returned for TDs at Bama, and Gesicki who's top 10 in reception and TDs at Penn St. I'd say that's a good start for playmakers.

Belief is that Gase runs the show. Tannebaum was seen and heard a lot more in recent past. Haven't heard a peep from him nor have we seen the insane moves that he likes to make annually. Think hes on the way out.

He’s on the field so rarely I forgot his name.

As for Wilson and Amendola replacing Landry, you don’t replace a superior player with two average players.

Amendola is an injury-prone midget and Wilson is a irrelevant midget. Neither is half the player that Landry is.

Minkah is a great player. I won’t say a bad thing about his game. But this draft has left us right where we were: nowhere.

We can only hope!

I think it's going to be a long year in 2018.......

And if so, we'll be staring at a stacked DL class to pick from - Oliver/Bosa/Lawrence/Wilkins/Gary/Davis etc sweepstakes in next year's draft although QB looks thin right now.

Not really sure where your going with this other then that wasn’t a penalty on beason. Game has changed so much in 15 years love herdon would have been happy with him but this is not Michael egnew. I know he has us dolphins fans shell shocked but think more young Julius Thomas or even jimmy graham.

Side note if your trying to contradict what I think of Gesiki might be a better idea to post a negative blurb about him not a positive one then post a video of beason getting a bull**** penalty called against the writer of the blurb. Not many people will catch on to that. I know your trying to think outside the box but came off as a positive post for Gesiki.

Positive? Only if you think Klatt is smart. He was the guy who thought Wimbush would toast Miami.

It's okay, the Jets got Herndon, so twice a year you can see what the 'Phins could have had while your stickboy is getting blown up.

What players would have improved the team? No trade ups or downs. Give me your draft that turns us into a contender.

I would like to read more of the medical on Hurst. I can't believe he is still on the board.

Now we get a blocker and people are complaining. Miami has filled almost every need if they get a run stuffing defensive tackle with this next pick. We need the kid from Georgia.

Exactly. 4th round picks, you get what you need. They need somebody that can block on 3rd and short or goal line and maybe even roll out. They still have another 4th round pick to grab a DT.

What is a reach on day 3?

Day 3 you want guys who make the team and contribute - who could turn into starters.

I like Smythe. I had him targeted for our late 4th or trade up into 5/6. I think he's a great blocker and will contribute a lot so Gesicki can be used elsewhere. That said, i really like a few other DT and OT players still on the board who will also help fill needs and offer great value this late....as well as a few DBs and WR.
