OT: Dalvin Cook Arrested?

What a ****in idiot. Cant understand this kids mindset. And for **** sakes how does he continue to get caught up. Kid gives zero ****s.

What's strange? He's been a pampered athlete since day 1 and has no father. If he turned out to be anything else it's a miracle.

That's a copout and you know it, you shouldn't hit women period! Players that come from homes where the mom was the sole care giver should know that better than anyone.

This. He also should be aware of all the attention both the football program and police department is already getting. He didnt have the decency to at least try to be low key, as one of the star players in a small area he has to know everyone knows who he is. He is an *** simple and plain.

doesn't matter if FSU tries to sweep this under the rug or not...please believe if nothing happens to cook, expect lawsuits from the kid who was actually kicked out b/c of the same thing. it's a lose, lose situation for FSU and I love it.

yeah, cause there's no successful athletes that were raised without a father....

By your logic, Lebron and tens of thousands of other professionals athletes should be scumbags too.

So you're saying a stable home with a Father wouldn't have a positive effect? Of course there are a ton of athletes who had his situation and beat the odds but there's millions more, both athletes and non, who will always be fvck ups because they don't have a Father. Is this really an argument?

Who said he doesn't have a father?

I believe he and Burnett who played for us share the same parents.

You're an idiot

How is he an idiot?? He is exactly right. Single moms and and kids having kids is the main reason that the black community has so much poverty and lawlessness. No father guiding the youth and the additional income as well. You're the idiot if you think otherwise.

Just because it is backed up statistically, doesn't mean it is applicable.

That definitely means it's applicable lol

there was a report that he had been arrested at least twice down here as a minor.

From Mike Bianchi: "According to records from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement obtained by the Sentinel, Cook was arrested as a juvenile and charged with robbery in 2009. Prosecutors later opted to drop the case. Cook was also arrested and charged with firing a weapon and possessing a weapon at an event on school property in 2010, according to FDLE records. The third-degree felony charge was later dropped or abandoned."

this guys is toast, if not now then the next incident.

Cook also has had a few other incidents at FSU. This isn't his first go around. If he was at Miami he would of been gone with BB gun campus incident. And we dismiss kids who talk back to coaches and are not "culturally fit".

It's amateur hour in Coral Gables.

I hope these kids in Miami realize that actually leaving the "streets" of Miami and going to other cities is not going to stop them from getting in trouble. What you need is a support system that will allow you and teach you to make good decisions. Parents, coaches, teachers all matter in helping a kid. Maybe Cook is dumb and would of done this anywhere, or maybe it was because he left home and thought he was King of the world. Regardless, it is sick and I can't stand when people like Phillips are quoted as needing to leave Miami.

So true.
If you're an idiot, trouble will find you anywhere.

Cook's problem is he's too loyal of a friend. He saw his friend Rudolph being battered and in danger and stepped up to help him. He should have punched that snitch in the eyes so she couldn't identify him.

This is another case of a chick getting violent with a dude and coming out on the short end of the beef. They're persecuting Cook because he's a better fighter than the snitch who was assaulting and battering Rudolph.

An honest man would say that it totally depends on the father. I know some kids that are better off that their father wasn't around.

Dalvin Cook of Florida State Seminoles didn't strike woman, attorney says

An attorney for Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook told ESPN on Monday night that the player did not hit a woman last month and that battery charges are a result of pressure in Tallahassee based on recent high-profile cases in the media.

"Dalvin Cook did not strike this woman," Ricky Patel, a Miami-based attorney, said. "Players were leaving the scene at the same time. But Dalvin walked away before it got out of hand."

Patel said witnesses in the case were intoxicated. He said investigators were presented three versions of what occurred and that his research indicates one alleged witness was actually not present.

Patel said it has been made clear to him that "there has been so much turmoil at FSU and there is a huge cloud, so [FSU] wants to make sure 100 percent that Dalvin has not done anything inappropriate."

Patel said he believes recent domestic-violence cases against women involving dismissed FSU quarterback De'Andre Johnson and even former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice are playing a role in charges being filed in this case.

"This is not clean," Patel said. "There are conflicting statements. The woman and her dad -- who was not there -- identified Dalvin after being shown social-media pictures of Dalvin and some random people. It was an extremely unfair 'lineup.' The pressure is so high the assumption is 'he did it.' There is no judge and jury here. It's just not right."

Patel said he is concerned a jury could unfairly predetermine the case after it was reported Cook was cited for mistreating three dogs.

"I am hoping it doesn't create a bias," Patel said. "This is not a Michael Vick situation."

Patel said that not only did Cook not commit battery on the alleged victim, but that she actually struck Florida State receiver Travis Rudolph.

"The bottom line is this does not relate to Dalvin," Patel said. "There is no video. And regardless of if there is a video, there is no room for that type of behavior. But Dalvin walked away. He is not an individual that would be involved in attacking a woman."

Glad his attorney cleared that up:baby_face:
