I think this was a different rally from the one in the movie, but read some of the details from a rally he did this at. He was outed, escaped in an ambulance and then came back in a different costume to interview the rally organizer about his music act:

Event organizers eventually realized that Cohen was trolling the rally and attempted to pull the plug on his equipment. Cohen’s security prevented them from doing so, however, allowing the comedian to continue unabashed for over eight minutes. After the audience was clued in on the prank, Cohen and his band exited the stage and escaped the grounds via a private ambulance positioned nearby.

But wait… apparently Cohen later returned, in a different disguise, to interview the event’s organizers about what went wrong.

Only thing I'm mad at is not being able to get those 2 hours back. I like that kind of humor and it was absolutely horrible.

I think that the key was that he couldn't do AS MANY "high degree of difficulty" bits in character.

For instance, when he was trying to do the song at the redneck rally, he was recognized. Apparently, there were some non-MAGA types there to observe the event, and they recognized him (and called him out). Once the MAGA types started to catch on, Sacha Baron Cohen had his own security team to get him out of there.

So, when you think about it, what are the main pranks:

--the blood-moon dance (high degree of difficulty)
--the abortion counselor (medium degree of difficulty)
--the babysitter (low degree of difficulty)
--the rabbi (low degree of difficulty
--the photo-copier guy (low degree of difficulty)
--the phone salesman (low degree of difficulty)
--Halloween store (low degree of difficulty)
--bakery (low degree of difficulty)
--plastic surgeon (low degree of difficulty)
--MAGA rally (high degree of difficulty)
--Pence/CPAC (high degree of difficulty)
--Giuliani (high degree of difficulty)

Everything else is just acting and fooling around and selective editing.

It's actually a lot more damning than the video shows.

Giuliani had a bodyguard sweep the room before the interview. Sacha Baron Cohen had to build a false wall within a closet, and he hid inside while the security guy searched the entire room. Then, when Giuliani and the girl were inside the room together, the bodyguard was standing outside the door preventing anyone from getting into the room. Thus, if SBC had been OUTSIDE the room, he would not have been able to get in.

We can sit here and pick apart the video and act like Giuliani was "set up", because he was just "tucking in his shirt". Whatever. But the important aspect was that Giuliani himself felt that the hotel was empty and that whatever happened between him and the girl would be OK, nobody was going to disturb him.

Again, I'm not saying the video shows Giuliani having a sexual act with the girl...but if SBC didn't interrupt, Rudy was definitely up for whatever was coming next.

And to be clear, the part where Borat tries to get past security was shot in a completely different hotel.

Loved the first one, this one was terrible. Its already come out that the older lady was paid only $3,100 and there’s a go fund me for her. The Giuliani thing was built up, the guy was definitely a dirty old man but he was tucking his shirt in and not playing with himself

Eh it perfectly showcases the "greatest" segment of Americans. It hit home for its target audience and was "****" for the audience it portrayed.

I don’t agree with that at all nor do I agree that it’s a slice. Clearly a sizable portion. He’s showing a certain part of Americans, there’s no generalizing across everyone. He even shows different types of people in the movie.

Giuliani was acting like a horny old dude, and of course that was no act. He clearly asked for the girl’s # & address. For what? It’s an interview. And I’ve never seen anyone tuck their shirt like that. Dude wanted them drawers & thought he was clear to get them drawers. I don’t necessarily think that’s a far fetched assumption based upon behavior & rep.

Regardless, that was a huge move to try to set up a pretty powerful politician like that.
