I agree. I'm a huge fan of Scorcese movies. He does a great job with bringing you into the story. Goodfellas, Casino, etc. Great flix

Still think 'Casino' was the best movie of the Scorsese gangster films. It's close though; really close.

Casino had the better storyline, Goodfellas had the better one liners
Goodfellas in my opinion...But Pesci stole the show in both.

Agreed . Casino and Goofellas are both way better than The Irishman . I needed 3 tries before I finally got through The Irishman , too slow and nothing really new there .

I know 1979 is a long time ago, but it's based off the book written by a guy who was in the trenches. Who the ***** killed his family during World War II because he refused to participate in **** propaganda. Erich Maria Remarque, I believe his name was.
I'll check out 1917 though; haven't had a reason to go to the theater in years.

He was pretty much the same guy in both, lol. But you're right.
I thought Goodfellas ran a little too long, but that's just me. Both are damned good movies.

To me, it was disappointing on first watch only because my expectations were so high.
On the second and third watch, you really get to appreciate the story more.
I still think a few minor tweaks could have made it even better, but no doubt it was a great movie.
