Also a great movie, but it’s publication year holds it back a little.

I know 1979 is a long time ago, but it's based off the book written by a guy who was in the trenches. Who the ***** killed his family during World War II because he refused to participate in **** propaganda. Erich Maria Remarque, I believe his name was.

I'll check out 1917 though; haven't had a reason to go to the theater in years.

That boy is all Syracuse.....he would have donated a kidney to Derrick Coleman or Billy Owens without thinking twice back in the day..... would have taken one for the team and donated liver and or heart to Carmelo.

I agree. I'm a huge fan of Scorcese movies. He does a great job with bringing you into the story. Goodfellas, Casino, etc. Great flix
To me, it was disappointing on first watch only because my expectations were so high.

On the second and third watch, you really get to appreciate the story more.

I still think a few minor tweaks could have made it even better, but no doubt it was a great movie.
