OT: 1917

1917, Irishman and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood were my favorite three films of the year.

Outstanding film. As a social studies teacher, I don’t think I could find another clip, video, or movie that illustrates the conditions of WW1 better than 1917.

I’m a history major and I agree. WW1 and Korea are often overlooked. Same with WW2 pacific.

Yep. I held off watching it for a while but was glad I did. It's a very entertaining movie.

My only complaint is that the lead would have been dead about 5 times in real life. I have a hard time suspending that much disbelief. Oh and always kill a downed German. Always.

My wifes grandfather was a fighter pilot in the pacific during WW2. We have some amazing pics and letters from him still

1917 was beautifully shot and directed (should get best director), The Irishman was well acted, and Parasite was excellent as well. This is all without mentioning, Joker. Once upon a time in Hollywood should get best picture, IMO, it's some of Quinten's best work. That said I could see 1917 getting best picture.
