People keep talking about Central vs Grayson but if you stayed up until Midnight like I did to watch it you could tell Robert Nkemdiche and that Grayson front 4 set the tone in that game by intimidating the **** out of Central. That game was over midway thru the 1st qtr. They checked out. (I love Yearby because he is a Cane but he really disappointed me in tha game. I wasnt mad one bit that he was committed to FSU after watching him play. Dalvin Cook was the only person who showed up and showed any signs of life.) Anyway, I think Central is gonna use that game as a learning exp against Bosco.
And BTW will not be intimidatd because they have been there, done that when it comes to these OOS games. The big GA stadium and crazy crowd wont deter them. They might lose but it will be a great game. I see it like when Central played Camden County, GA a few years back and lost in a shootout. But I think BTW will pull it out.
This is a game D$ referenced in the past where if you can watch the film you see Yearby struggled a little with a step up in Comp. Like most, I hope it was just an outlier, hope he take another step this coming season. Sucks that they play Heritage same time we play our opener.
I hate defending Yearby but saying the kid struggled with a step up in competition is as silly as people who claim Duke is unable to run against top 25 teams. The kid plays against the best compeption in the country playing in sfl. Centrals entire team was booty that night including Dalvin if you take away that kick return. I mean for goodness sake Central couldn't block a 115lb DL and lets not even talk about their defense (which was suspect all season). They were a one dimensional team who was behind the eight ball because they were down big quickly in that game, so it's not like the kid had a ton of opportunities to run the ball. They got their stuff pushed in against BM a couple weeks after the Grayson game and Yearby played fine that game against a really good defense.
Dalvin is the best player in the county imo but people need to stop acting like there's this giant gap between them and Yearby game won't translate well to the next level. There have been plenty of rb like him that have gone on to be successful at the college level and even beyond (you don't even need to look that hard considering Portis was a similar to Yearby coming out of HS or even that f'er who Yearby was backing up as a 9th grader that's at state now).
