OOS hs games that are scheduled for South Florida schools

People keep talking about Central vs Grayson but if you stayed up until Midnight like I did to watch it you could tell Robert Nkemdiche and that Grayson front 4 set the tone in that game by intimidating the **** out of Central. That game was over midway thru the 1st qtr. They checked out. (I love Yearby because he is a Cane but he really disappointed me in tha game. I wasnt mad one bit that he was committed to FSU after watching him play. Dalvin Cook was the only person who showed up and showed any signs of life.) Anyway, I think Central is gonna use that game as a learning exp against Bosco.

And BTW will not be intimidatd because they have been there, done that when it comes to these OOS games. The big GA stadium and crazy crowd wont deter them. They might lose but it will be a great game. I see it like when Central played Camden County, GA a few years back and lost in a shootout. But I think BTW will pull it out.

This is a game D$ referenced in the past where if you can watch the film you see Yearby struggled a little with a step up in Comp. Like most, I hope it was just an outlier, hope he take another step this coming season. Sucks that they play Heritage same time we play our opener.

I hate defending Yearby but saying the kid struggled with a step up in competition is as silly as people who claim Duke is unable to run against top 25 teams. The kid plays against the best compeption in the country playing in sfl. Centrals entire team was booty that night including Dalvin if you take away that kick return. I mean for goodness sake Central couldn't block a 115lb DL and lets not even talk about their defense (which was suspect all season). They were a one dimensional team who was behind the eight ball because they were down big quickly in that game, so it's not like the kid had a ton of opportunities to run the ball. They got their stuff pushed in against BM a couple weeks after the Grayson game and Yearby played fine that game against a really good defense.

Dalvin is the best player in the county imo but people need to stop acting like there's this giant gap between them and Yearby game won't translate well to the next level. There have been plenty of rb like him that have gone on to be successful at the college level and even beyond (you don't even need to look that hard considering Portis was a similar to Yearby coming out of HS or even that f'er who Yearby was backing up as a 9th grader that's at state now).

I think Booker T. Washington will win against Norcross as for loosing by 30+ I just can't see that happening. They did loose to Hamilton high out of Arizona and Northside out of Georgia, but won against Summerville out of South Carolina and Cedar Hill out of Texas; with these four out of state games they are 2-2. Another thing since Booker T.'s inception back as a high school in 2000 they only played Miami Central four times and they're 2-2 against them. Also against powerhouse Miami Northwestern they're 1-3 playing them three times. My point is Booker T. has a good team so don't knock them down and they're an inner city school so Norcross won't intimidate them at all. As for the other Fl schools they gone loose Blanche Ely and Norland suck, however both of them been to states Norland has two state titles while Blanche Ely has one state title, likewise MLK and Stephenson have none. Lastly Dillard sucks they're a basketball school and Central isn't all that. Central starting to be good but before they was alright and yes they lost to out of state schools, but beat them as well. Lost to Camden County and Grayson out of Georgia, while beating Madison from Texas, Elder from Cincinnati and Prattville from Alabama making them 3-2. As for the St.Thomas Aquinas and Northwestern game they should of played sooner because both teams aren't good as they used to be.

The Rockets beaten BTW 4 times in a row even when BTW has been, and still is stacked. BTW haven't beat Central since 08-09 (44-39) Don't know where you got that from. Regardless of the people that say STA/MNW shoulda been played sooner. They're both top 5 here in Dade/Broward, and would wipe out a good number of the elite teams here in the state (Aquinas still smoked Manatee after losing to Don Bosco & Miramar earlier last season.) None of that other stuff matters besides finding Canes from these teams that fit the program.

I think Yearby translates as a good player. He's much better than the backs Miami has signed lately aside from Duke. I just don't see a difference maker like Collins, Cook, Michel or Scarlett. Those guys are big, fast and good.

Man Collins is so overrated by a lot of people. I've felt kid was soft even when he was still a Miami commit. I think you're looking to much into the tangible things to make your determination about the difference between Joe and the others you mentioned. I posted this in the past when discussing HS Duke on this board and why kids like Sony who are bigger/stronger/faster than Duke was can't sniff his jock. Everything about a great rb can't be measured in 40 times and height/weight numbers. Joe's got it and he's had it even when he was a jit playing @ GCP. It's been proven over the years that the RB position has become the most replaceable position in football. The great ones will still leave you in awe but if you have a good one playing running behind a good OLine you won't give a **** (ex that three headed monster we all like to talk so much about the most physically gifted of the three was Willis, yet at the time everyone felt the guy that was almost a DB in Turdsville and a 180lb freshman were better than him).

I feel wierd defending Yearby a) the kid is talented enough that his resume speaks for itself and it needs no defending and b) I'm a bionic man fanboy lol.

Yeah you right I made a mistake BTW record against Central is 2-3 and I get my information from Maxpreps.com. Also, I am a UM Cans fan so I want the best players at UM but who's to say we're going to do good. Don't know if you remember, but UM had all them good players from Northwestern and how did we do....... and everybody was expecting us to make moves in the ACC division at least I was. Last thing about that St. Thomas Aquinas and Northwestern game I was right when I said they should of played earlier. Back then both schools I believe were undefeated well Northwestern was two years straight so it does make a difference, whereas now both teams aren't what they used to be. I went to Miramar and when I seen St Thomas on the schedule I'm like ****....... we gone loose badly, now it's the total opposite we've beaten them two years straight 2011 and 2012 home and away.

Booker T. hasn't they're 1-2 against Northwestern and I get my information from Maxpreps.com. Oh you may not know but preseason games don't count towards the record.

Havent been really in the conversation, but miramar players told me Collins is overrated and slow. I think he would've been our perfect #2 but I just thought I would pass the info along

Lmao but the kid was speaking his honest opinion. He gives praise when praise is due. One thing I remember from last year is that Collins played hurt for parts of the season. I also do remember he did not step up in big games.

Ahhhh..Lets remember that AC played for South Plantation. If he had played at STA or University School he would have ran for 1500 yards and 20tds. But I agree he seems injury prone. And if hes going to the SEC, thats not a good thing to start out with.

To the poster defending Yearby, you are preaching to the choir. I have said on here many times that he is more highly regarded nationally then he is locally. Buddy is on everyones top 20 player in the country list. Duke didnt even get that kinda love. And I said that Yearby ran South Fla as a sophomore when nobody knew who Dalvin Cook or Alex Collins was and Sony was hurt. I was just disappointed in his performance. Still glad to have him whether he brings Dalvin Cook with him or not.

Is Don Bosco any good this year?

From the Rivals preseason 100 list:

No. 83 Don Bosco, New Jersey

Coach: Greg Toal
Last Season: 8-3, lost in Non-Public Group IV semifinals. Ranked No. 100 in RivalsHigh 100
Key Player: Temple pledge Frank Nutile returns as the starting quarterback, and there will be higher expectations for him in his second season. As a junior, Nutile threw for nearly 1,500 yards but had just four more touchdowns than interceptions. The offense was nonexistent against the quality teams on the schedule.

The Good: Moving the ball on the ground could be easier because the offensive line should be better than it was last year. Two-star Tyrell Smith has committed to Virginia Tech, Mitch Arthur looked solid at his Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour event, and class of 2015 tackle Kevin Feder has an offer from Miami. If the group can open holes and keep Nutile off his back, this could be another successful season for Don Bosco.

The Bad: There is hardly any explosiveness on this team, and in each meaningful contest it will be at a disadvantage in speed on the outside. It will enter each significant challenge without a go-to playmaker to match the opposition's. This team would be significantly higher in the national rankings if Jabrill Peppers had stayed with it instead of transferring two years ago.

The Bottom Line: The IronMen did not take a shortcut to the top of the mountain in high school football. Under Toal, Don Bosco has an incredible argument for being the top national program over the last decade. However, as the season approaches, this year's version does not resemble the national title-winning squad of 2009 or the runner-up in 2011. A multiple-loss campaign is expected with the schedule the program faces, but it will likely finish the season nationally ranked because many teams wouldn't even field a call to play this powerhouse.

Champagnat vs Eastern Christian out of Newark, Deleware for a Kick Off Classic August 25th

That is the school with the kid whose been committed to USC since he was 4. Its pretty much an online school of nothing but football players. They are also playing Madison county. Almost played us but we couldn't get it worked out.

3/4 GA teams will win their match ups , possibly 4 but idk about brook wood and John Paul. That Norcross and BTW game will be the biggest game in nation by far.

Ill definitely be at this game. Norcross is loaded this year and I expect them to win by 30+.

I realize they are loaded but BTW is extremely loaded defensively so I highly doubt Norcross wins by 30+. Not saying they won't win, just saying it will not be by 30+... however we shall see.

A 30-point margin for the Booker T game is absurd. Although, I will say Booker T will have it's hands full with Norcross's 5-star DE Lorenzo Carter. Carter is a flat out monster. Booker T better be ready to play some smash mouth football against Georgia's top team.

Booker t wont play smashmouth...all their going to do is spread them out wide and pick them apart.

Carter will have to chase Treon Harris around all game...thats gonna get tiring. Carter is a grown man, but dont think he is on NKemdiche's level...and he didnt look as good as the guy on the other side Chad Thomas @ the Opening.

If Booker t has any succes with those quick screen plays....Norcross will be in trouble...dont think they have ever seen a team with as much speed as BTW.

Yes. If Booker T wins, they will have to beat them with their speed and spread them out.
