One thing I’m hearing about Carson Beck from the Hecht…

Outside of CB, where is the upgrade on Defense?
Honest question...how would you account for a season of experience when judging year over year improvement? For example, being a year "older" along the LOS should led to improvement. No?

Does that success rate include us old guys or is that just the ~22yo cohort?

The American Sports Medicine Institute (Birmingham, AL) has noted a shift in the majority of patients presenting with UCL injuries. Twenty-five years ago, that majority were college and professional aged baseball players, now the athletes sustaining UCL injuries are predominately younger than collegiate age. From 2001 to 2019 at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center 4,606 UCL surgeries were performed with an average age of 17.6 years.

The DL played pretty bad last year. I assume they can be stronger especially getting to the QB if Bain isn’t puffy and can stay healthy. But yeah…not amazing other than I think Guidry was clueless after week 1 regardless.

I would wager that this has a lot to do with availability of insurance and the number of surgeons now trained to provide the surgery.
I tore my labrum pitching district finals my junior year of high school. I was poor and didn’t have health insurance. Pitched my senior year with a torn labrum. Didn’t have arthroscopic surgery on that shoulder until I was in my 40’s.

This place be weird asf i swear! Its like our own fans dont want Beck to have a better season than Cam to fit there narrative Cam is better. The best player weve had in 20 plus years lol Mfs acting like its no way possible! Georiga played 8 ranked teams plus Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, Miss St, Georiga Tech! Passed for 8000 yards 50 TDS 70 percent completions! We play maybe 3 ranked teams and a ACC conference schedule. But nope theres no way Beck will have a better year than Cam. Lmfao we got some hating *** fans some of yall deserve Emory
G **** bruh, Love what Cam accomplished here but Canes fans tryna act like Beck is incapable of putting up similar or better numbers against the ACC after what he did in the big bad SEC they love slurping so much is weird energy lol smh

Also with how "driven" parents of young athletes can be.

Correct.. he had the less invasive UCL repair with internal brace (Tommy John light). It’s an even better success rate at 92% and less recovery time needed than TJS.
Can probably just track Brock Purdy for a lot of these answers

Same surgery. Roughly the same age. Not saying they’re similar QBs necessarily but being a bit ahead of Beck from a recovery standpoint you can see how it hopefully plays out

His arm should theoretically be stronger.

Me: Beck "could" have a better year than Cam
Cis: your smokin crack😂😂😂😂

Why cause im hoping bro shows out this year!? Its not like he hasnt done it he has and that was 2 years ago! People do get better! Hes going from Bobo at Oc yo a Air Raid OC with a **** good oline i think Lyle will be the best RB weve had since Walton. Our Defense should be wayyyyy better than last year.

Beck has a ton of experience-

If he’s healthy I feel good about his game-

UGA, didn’t do him any favors with lack of playmakers at WR.

I don’t know from a medical standpoint what exactly differentiates the 2 or if he still could have technically had TJ to repair it. I will also caveat by saying Georgia was left mostly out of the loop on the medical stuff and his decisions on the surgery. But they were told from one doctor (guy that does all of the Braves’ TJ surgeries) that he needed actual TJ.

How one doctor comes to one conclusion and another comes to a different conclusion and how they differentiate and know which will work and what severity is… no idea. I found it interesting though

Their OL was beat up and in and out as well

Beck was a top 3 QB coming into last season, it wasn't by accident…Obv we can't argue that he struggled at times, but I can't see how anyone can say he isn't top 5 coming this season?

People get invested in their feels.

If you tell them "someone can be better than Cam" when Cam is our all-time single-season record-holder, they get freaked out.

Meanwhile, a year ago, someone NOT named Cam was the all-time single-season record-holder.

Hadn't heard that. Would it be because his injury was so sudden vs., for example, a picture whose ligament gets damaged over time?

@DMoney

What are you hearing about @gaycane?
