One of the Biggest Issues with Manny's Staff...

There are no unique, singular voices on either side of the ball staff wise. The Defense are all disciples of Manny, except for Rumph. Stroud is from that FSU coaching tree so he's from the same school as Manny.

On the offense, every one is basically an Enos disciple or a scheme neophyte.

This creates a brain drain so to speak. No fresh ideas. No new outside the box voices in any of the planning. To be fair, this has been a problem at UM since Golden.

But it'd be nice to see Manny bring in some guys like Chad Morris (just a name) and Derek Mason (not realistic, but using as an example) in a support capacity to spice things up a bit.

Probably the same as most coaching staffs.

This is probably one of the dumbest threads lol

Manny has led a top 20 unit consistently not surprising he wants people to continue running his scheme (how well Baker runs it is another argument as i think Manny has fully stepped in again)

Offense is completely under Enos.... And he has his people like one would expect

Manny's defense was, and is overrated. Y'all gone learn one day.

It's not about being good, though. It's about getting BETTER.

Baker was a useless hire. Manny should have kept DC role for himself, and hired a top recruiter instead of Baker. Because actual football knowledge baker doesn’t really add anything Manny doesn’t already know.
yeah i wouldnt be surprised if baker moved on at some point. Lets be real though, for all the hate on Patke, our ST has improved this year.

Seeing how well it didnt against a national opponent in ND and how it consistently fairs well against ACC foes I think your just grasping at straws

How does one get better? By consistently being good and moving the mark over the top. This year to start we were awful on offense absolutely WOAT levels... now you can see a curve of progression and being able to be good and build on it going forward

Where are those ACC foes you mentioned ranked offensively? I'll wait.

What did Manny's defenses do against Wisconsin? Or Clemson? Or VT? Or UNC? Or even UL last week? Manny's defenses have been good. They're nowhere near championship level or elite. We beat up on nobodies. Our players are barely getting drafted from that side of the ball.

I agree with the second part of your post however, except for the quantam leap forward part. The offense strangely got better when we played an awful FSU defense, and then an even worse UL defense (possibly the worse of the season). But we can take an even larger quantam leap with additional voices and eyes. You have guys like Larry fedora working as an analyst. You're telling me he wouldn't be a benefit here?

Never rest on your laurels.

We haven’t had good experiences with head coaches also coordinating a unit.

I think the biggest issue that every previous coaching staff has done is not getting rid of their buddies and friends.
Business is Business, you have to take the emotions out of it.

Most coaches do stuff the staff with there own. That is why coaching tree matters. Problem with Manny and Mark is that they were connected to the school that loss most close games to us that its HC coach said it would be on his tomestone. Now we can't hit a winning field goal ;)

Not my problem they suck... Our only problem is to dominate them and give us a chance to beat them.

Wisconsin the first year was just a whooping on the inside that exposed how little depth we had at DT... 2nd game we flat outdidn’t care and it showed.

Clemson was us finally playing a similar talented team and being hit in the mouth quick and not being able to recover.

LOSERville we held them under alot of their season averages... Plus if we hadnt pulled starters they dont get that last TD with subsequent yards given up.

Agree to disagree on the future of the offense but rewatch week 1 and 2 of this offense to the FSU and LOSERville tape and you will see a huge rocket leap you can only hope for
