On Zaquan Patterson...

Roberts quality of play at DE was better than any of our '24 DE…And I'm a huge Bain fan. I said it at the time that I never understood went wrong with him and the CMC regime.

Brashard Smith was a stud last year, and although he wouldn't have been a 1300 yd back here, there was no reason he couldn't have been KR #1 with 70 carries and 30 receptions and a lot of explosive plays.

Harvey top to bottom had as good a year as Tyler Barron, probably better as he blocked a huge kick that led their undefeated ACC season alive. I'm cool with calling it a wash.

K.Smith/Sam Brown = Wash, basically. Neither as good as Isaiah Horton but both were adequate.

JHH was good and showing signs while he was here…And had his best year at SMU. Yes it's a wash.

But to say none of these players would have been good or had the ability to start for us is just wrong and they proved that.
Didn’t work out here. Worked out there.

If they stayed, I don’t think it gets us any more wins than we had this year. Roberts only regret for me.

Didn’t say any were bad, just saying they were not impactful here. Maybe we were holding them back? Maybe they were holding us back?

This isn’t hard to understand.

K.smith/sam brown a wash?? No. Brown actually has a chance to be in the league for years.

Everything else, I agree with. Roberts, JHH, & smith would’ve played a role. & we did a good job replacing those guys with: a 500 yard WR who gave u an explosive game (Louisville). A 1k RB who was the best back in short yardage. A DT with A new All ACC DT. & a decent college DE with a Legit NFL DE who had a dominant performance against UF that Harvey never showed while here.

B. Smith was definitely the guy we missed as a gadget guy who can house for sure.

I have no problem giving Brown a little edge but I'd call iet a wash.

But K.Smith had a 500+ yard season as well as a 400 season the year before and a 400 yd season at Miami. Also housed a kick at UM. Not a stud or anything, but had legit speed.

He’s a solid College WR. Sam brown, a different caliber of athlete imo. He left some meat on the bone in his 1 year at Miami for sure.

Ya Brown is definitely a freak athlete… Just plays a bit soft and doesn't really change direction well. JMO.

Seemed to have bad instincts sometimes, too. Frustrating. I feel like if we had him for one more year he would have busted out.
