This was an expected move.

I've always been a fan of Patterson's game- he was the best player on the field several times for Chaminade in 2023. But the reality is that he's a very highly paid player who's limited in coverage, has been injured, and has not taken the next step off the field. A parting makes sense for both parties- Patterson has three years of eligibility and a chance to build himself into an NFL player with more playing time. We can spend the money on a win-now safety while continuing to develop guys like Dylan Day.

It's never a good thing when a talented, big-name local player doesn't work out, but in the modern era it's better for both sides to move on quickly.

Seemed pretty clear something like this was going to happen based on your podcast yesterday.

I’m just Stunned at how 1 year changes everything.Zaquan Patterson was a hard fought expensive recruiting Victory , year later parting ways,

1 year later there is a body of work. Attach that to a high price tag and it shouldn't be too surprising. Message is that there isn't time (or disposable money) for highly paid players to "figure it out"

He needs some work. He's a targeting call waiting to happen. Every time he went in for a tackle he'd lower his head.
