I miss Corey Flagg.

Yeah I don’t think these additions are to keep Wes & PoPo off like people keep saying. I think they’re to keep Alderman and Chase Smith off the field hopefully lol

I hope the coaches don't look at it this way. Every one of our LBers should be ready and capable of playing well. But there's a critical mass of talent you need for them to push themselves and each other, so the alphas emerge. Maybe Alderman and Smith win those battles? Maybe Hayes and Wiley? No one should be given a starting spot unless they're already proven (e.g., Cici or Bain). And everyone in that room better be ready to step up if someone goes down.

People complaining about this take I guess didn’t get the hint..Mario and Hetherman don’t trust Wes or Popo or both. I lean to Wes. If the light hasn’t come on for Wes in his 4th year, not sure how long you want Mario to wait.

And Kiko was a 5th round pick! If Toure even gets drafted after 2 ACL surgeries that means he went ape$**** for us and that’s great news for us. So not sure why people are knocking the Kiko comparison. I’ll take that.
Kiko was not Ray Lewis however he was a massive step up from LB'S in the years just before his arrival. If Toure can match that ability I think we are solid.

Welcome, young man.

Nobody is hating on Wes but at some point he’s either gonna be the guy we all made him out to be myself included or open it up to the younger talent,
The question is, what exactly is the definition of that guy? Is it expected that every starter on the team must be an All conference player and if not he is a jag?

According to this CIS logic Leon Williams would have been considered a jag going into his final season. In 2003 Williams had 23 tackles and 1 TFL. In 2004 Williams became a Butkus Award finalist and went on to be drafted in the 4th round by Cleveland.

The same could be said for Willis McGahee going into his RSO season, he had been passed up by Gore and 3rd on the depth chart. He was basically the RB version of Samson. CIS would have been happy to see Willis hit the portal 🤦🏾‍♂️

As in, actually good. Mauigoa sucked last year.
How much was Kiko ? How much was how Guidry Used him? Tape ‘23 doesn’t lie
Neither does 6-2 233 4.6 Speed Laser Timed
Down Hill LB , Dynamic Blitzer.
Not a Coverage Like a Nickel Back
Cover (4.5 Slot or Tailback )a Guy full sprint 60 yards & ask him to read ,Diagnose & react to a D-Line Stunting not Keeping Linebacker clean of O-Line.

We have to hope this move intensifies competition...maybe Popo and Wes will push harder this year....it definitely makes the LB depth much better than it was before spring....

Hoping for the best.
Player with injury history in just his college career worries me. Especially having not one but two ACL injuries.

Heatherman has to show development with these LB's. I pray for development during the season with Wiley. I love Pruitt coverage and in packages where his size doesn't hurt us. I definitely expect Toure to start at MLB. That tells you what I personally think of our LB's right now. It doesn't matter what I think, though. I would feel a lot more confident if we would have gotten Haulcy. My real concern is DT and these guys playing behind them. I am very concerned with our run D. We shall see.

"He wanted one last payday in college" line scares me a bit. Let's hope he's just hedging.
Well after 2 ACLs he can be great like he was in 2023 and he’s still not going before R5 and even that would be a stretch I bet. No problem with him coming for some cash

You don’t buy that Thomas and Scott could be just as good or better? I did like their highlights though Thomas seems to make boneheaded too often and of course Scott melted down last season. Still feels like there’s enough across the back 5 that we’ll figure it out.

Agree on DT. Hopefully it won’t matter against ND because our starting three live up to their Greentree hype.

The hate Wes get but then in the same breathe try to hype up popo Is funny. Popo hasn’t done shît here. And he is entering year 3 and still wasn’t able to solidify himself as the guy in spring
I see your point but Bissainthe has played starters reps for a few seasons now and has to be showed where to line up before every play.

He's had more opportunities proving that he's NOT the guy than Aguirre.

It's pretty clear that Heatherman doesn't want anything to do with the current room.
