On Jackson Cantwell...

they literally had Samson competing for a starting spot at LG with McCoy last spring so yes it was an option. You just like going back and forth. You not always right and that’s ok

You do know that it was Samson's second year in 2024, right? As in, Miami DID NOT start him out at OG as a true freshman, like what you are proposing with Jackson Cantwell. And the point with Samson is that they did not recruit him at OT and then immediately switch his position. If a position switch happens later in one's career, that is different from what you were talking about.

I "go back and forth" with you because the stuff you post is so easily proven wrong.

I've never claimed that I'm always right. ****, in that post, I typed "Tackle" when I clearly meant "Guard", so I fixed it. But you are almost always wrong.

Yeah then they need to get out of the predication business.

I wouldn't mind the predictions so much if they didn't pontificate and bull**** so much on the monetary issues.

Saying that Nakos is a BUSINESS writer is the worst form of denial possible.

The reality is that on3 (and 247 and whoever else) does not have a copy of anyone's NIL at the time a recruit commits to a team. And in back-and-forth negotiations, it is very possible for one party to exaggerate the size of the other offers in order to drive up the price.

So the very idea that, say, "Georgia" could confirm the accurate dollar amount of, say, a "Miami" NIL offer is just ridiculous.

COULD it be right? Anyone can pick a number, and occasionally be correct. Could it be in the ballpark of the right number? Yes.

But for these "business" writers to report on the dollar value of a contract they haven't even seen is just ridiculous. And then they have the nerve to say "yeah, but Jackson Cantwell can confirm or deny the amount if we ask the question." Sure. That's true. But even after Jackson refused to comment, all these "business" writers STILL reported the value of his NIL deal without any confirmation from the guy whose signature was on the contract.

And now they are getting defensive because people called them out for reporting a number for which they have no proof.

You go back and forth with everybody because you a know it all. A position switch is permanent. Playing a tackle at guard doesn’t mean he switched positions. Just like messidor played DT last year but was still a DE. But you right sir I’m done with it

OT is more valuable than iOL that there is literally zero reason to ever prioritize trying a player out - with a LEGIT OT build and measurables to be great - at iOL over OT until they literally lose the OT competition. Simple as that.

If going into next year say Markel Bell stays and then like Okunlola or Kinsler (each have 3 yr eligibility remaining) were to win a starting OT job, okay yeah you can put Cantwell at OG and see if he wins a job.

McCoy has 2 years of eligibility remaining including this year. **** I know Ryan Rodriguez is like a senior, but I'm pretty sure given his Redshirting and medical history he may even have 3yrs eligiblity still, depending on how the NCAA goes about the eligibility decision (like just going to 5yrs no exceptions, etc).

I think the gameplan TODAY is likely Mauigoa and Bell declare for draft. You have Okunlola and Kinsler competing for LT job, and then Cantwell is a plug and play RT. SJ likely is groomed for the Starting Center job but will compete with Nino and Rodriguez. I don't think we should be going for yet another portal Center... McCoy should be expected to return and have the starting LG job after locking it up this season. Rodriguez I'd expect to portal to a starting job somewhere if he doesn't get starting C or RG job, but that'll be a competition between Buchanan, Minaya, and any other Olineman we bring in.
that’s why I said and the fact he has a lot of work to do in pass protection

Seven pages ago, you said that YOU would start Cantwell out at guard. You gave no physical or playing-style reasons, and when people started to call out that crazy idea, you've been flipping and flopping ever since, citing every irrelevant player-comparison in the book.

You still can't name a single 5-star OT1 recruit that was immediately moved to guard as soon as he enrolled.

Thank god you're not a coach.
