On CharMar "Marty" Brown...

The answer is because we’ve been hearing that Fletcher and Lyle were elite RB1s since we stuffed OSU in the locker for them…

And so some fans are waiting for these elite RB1s to emerge and look like elite RB1s…

And then we saw a glimpse of what an RB1 looks like when Martinez bullied people…

So we overhype everything, especially SFL players and Mario, then when people ask, question, etc —- they are haters or mopes

Board lacks balance… like say… not quite elite RB2s

How long have you been waiting considering Lyle has been on campus 1 and a half semesters, and Fletcher has been 2 szns with no spring until this year?.

1st time starters for Ohio St: Qb, RB, LG, MLB, 2 Edges, 2 DTs, CB

1st time starters for Miami: 2 WRs, TE, LG, 1 DT

Yet all anyone does is complain about how we are going with guys that haven’t proven themselves yet, and act as if the top programs don’t always turn to the next man up who hasn’t proven themselves yet.
People just overreacting. if the development is even average this team should be better overall in talent and depth.

Sounds accurate. Plenty of time for them to excel, but when we landed them, no one was selling them as do not open until 2025

At this point i think its clear Fletcher is solid but not exactly an elite talent. Just doesn't have enough speed or explpsiveness. Lyle on the other hand, is younger and had to wait his turn and doesn't lack the aforementioned attributes. He might be a breakout candidate on O along with Lofton & Trader.

Would be pretty fantastic if he had that "extra gear" we see out there, but have not had at Miami in a minute.

He’s the 3rd string RB and knows this. If he’s getting more than 8-10 carries a game..something drastic happened. We aren’t pinning our ACC title hopes on him.
Don’t think he’s the guy, but you also need pieces to be successful. He provides depth and adds size to the room.

I feel that way about all our portal additions this spring but not this one. He’s an upgrade from Ajay.
I would argue the Spring portal players as a whole was jag city. I liked Haulcy but I didnt get why he was getting "Caleb Downs" level treatment. That I didnt see from looking at his highlights. But that tells you how mid the spring portal window was. Even Pena was good but I wasnt upset when we didnt get him. I was happy we didnt overpay for anyone.

Nebraska insider saying we offered 3 to 4 times more and he liked Nebraska better but chose the money instead lol. Yeah we're definitely throwing massive bags for a RB3 lmao. He also says he expects LB recruit Jordan Campbell to flip.

Better than Ajay Allen
Better than CWH
Better than Pringle
Better fit than Lofton
Better than other guy I can’t remember who left already
Might be better than Fletcher
Will fill a role that D Mart did

Solid addition all around
Wait and See Before I’d say he is better Than Ajay Allen .As a Blocker & bigger & physical runner yes But Ajay Allen had RB1?potential.

agreed. im not a big fan of fletcher as the lead back. I like him in a committee role, but he isnt DM. lyle is just unproven so far.
Fletcher would Start for every other Team In the Acc & Most Sec teams & A Team Called OHio St.
Maybe 🤔 you’re not a Fan of Good Talented running Backs. At 6-2 220 with NFL potential.
Who can block like a Tight end & Catch the Ball.

Martinez Didn’t look Like Rb1 until Middle to end of the Season. Both Fletcher & Lyle look Better from the beginning of the Year.
Keep in Mind Neither Fletcher or Lyle were Featured in any Game Cam Was.
We haven’t seen all that Fletcher & Lyle can do if they are truly featured Carrying the Ball & Catching out of the Backfield.

Fletcher if you go back & watch the Florida Game, gave you a glimpse of his Potential both running & Catching.
There were times in the Game you thought Fletcher was among the best players In the game.

Parrish’s problem was that he couldn’t hold up against the better teams. He was pretty much a non-factor against higher level body types. You saw the same thing this year at Ole Miss. I liked him since high school but he was limited. Fletcher is much more of a playoff-type back and he’s always been valued that way.

This is the right way to analyze RB's.

It's easy to see some RB's just can't hang when the talent level increases.

Of course @DMoney - if you look at all RB's this way (not just Parrish), you have to face 2 uncomfortable realities you don't want to face:

1) Walton blows. He was fools gold
2) Fletcher is much closer to Parrish than he is Martinez
