Omier - All Pro Tight End

If it was so easy everyone would shoot good from the free throw line as well.

Your kind of down playing PJ Tucker is my point.

Omier aint gonna be that level of shooter but he could make it in the nba on particular teams ...mainly my Heat. He has the ability to switch on defense and gobble up rebounds...the Heat dont even care to much on rim protecting and he can play small ball for us easily.
You maybe correct that my Sixers glasses are causing me to hate on PJ. But Pat Beverly is still in the league and I would encourage him to shoot 3’s if I was the opposing coach.
We aren’t that far off in our points. I just want to see Omier get a shot because I think his value will translate.

What are you talking about? Have you even watched him play this season?

Omier is an excellent finisher at the rim. He can score with both hands, but is unselfish and does whatever the team needs. He can also jump out of the gym, and is a rebounding machine.

With his strength, athleticism, wide body and intangibles, there is zero chance that he doesn’t get drafted when he decides to enter the draft, His jumper has greatly improved this season, and is something that can be further developed. However, hustle and rebounding are something that you can’t teach, as well as basketball IQ.

As Kelvin Sampson said, they didn’t face a stronger, more skilled and smarter big all season long.

He will 100% get drafted, and in my opinion will be an impact player for many years in the NBA.
I think even a lot of our fans only started watching the basketball team in the past few weeks and think that what Omier is doing now is the result of a good matchup or not what he has been doing all season. For those of us who have been watching all year we know that he has literally won every match up, or was at least as good as a future first round pick like Jackson-Davis at IU.

It’s not a fluke CIS.
We told all of you early this season.
Pack is an ELITE shooter
Wong can score from any place
Miller is as good as anyone for whom almost no plays are called. His last 2 passes to Wooga last night were things of beauty. He is a future NBA player
Wooga has a chance to be the next star. My biggest smile last night was when Wooga passed up the wing 3 and finished at the rim with his left hand
And Omier is a literal man amongst boys. Maybe the strongest player in college basketball, with, as you noted, a nice touch around the rim with either hand.

Your talking about Pat Bev who was a heat find as well. A really really good ont he ball defender and distributor.

PJ was on my team just last year and is from Raleigh,NC where its like a second home for me.

Some players have to have the right attitude and know how to fill a role. Remember how your speaking on Pat Bev or PJ Tucker they both were THE MAN in high schools and larger basketball recruits than Omier even was.

Im a football guy but for whatever reason most of my closest friends were hoopers and this is what they would always say when i called guys in the league a bum....they would say you know that bum was giving ppl 40pts and was the man on his team his whole life. Pat Bev and PJ have the right attitudes...Omier seems to have the same thing.

Look at our recent NBA guys...thjey seem to have the right attitudes to..DAVON REED is collecting NBA checks.

Would he have any eligibility for football at UM after he finishes out his basketball scholarship?

I forgot how it worked with Jimmy, but didn't he graduate then only play 1 year of football for us?

Your a 76er what use was Ben Simmons?. lol All world athlete and afraid to shoot.

The mix yall have now actually may work...Harden is playing real well now.

Sounds like he should study Rodman and how he studied and most importantly understood rebounding and how certain shots come off the rim...

Rodman was unfreakinbeleebable on the boards....

I’m a Sixers fan. Tucker is a terrible shooter, and can literally only shoot from 2 spots. I could teach 100 people in 6 weeks to shoot as well from the corner as PJ Tucker does right now. Stop making the corner 3 to be some impossible skill to obtain.
Which is why I said at his PEAK. Tucker was one of the best 3 point shooters in the league from the corners. If it was so easy to obtain then everyone would do it. It’s silly to try and diminish the skill.

But going back to your original point, PJ Tucker played 3 years of college basketball at UT. In those 3 years, he took ZERO 3 point shots. Let that sink in. Zero 3 point shots. And he is 6’5”. A guy who took zero 3 point shots in college developed into a decent corner 3 point shooter in the NBA.
And Yet Omier can’t develop like that. Please. You guys are way, way, way, overblowing how hard it is to learn to shoot stationery corner 3’s. I can teach 12 year olds to do it, and quickly, while they are also in school and don’t have time to take 500 shots per day from 1 spot.
You’re comparing COMPLETELY different eras of basketball and completely leaving out that PJ was an All American level talent in both HS and college and then still had to go overseas years before eventually making his way back.

You’re trying to convince us how easy it is to learn a skill that is critical for a role player in the NBA. If it’s that easy, then why aren’t people who are a lot better than you at teaching these things able to do it with more success? It’s a mind boggling argument that you’re making

Did you say Sixers?

Almost every player in the NBA can shoot corner 3’s. And as I noted, Omier already has to HC and rotation on his shots. Teaching him to shoot corner 3’s will not be hard. ****, Robin Lopez has become a 3 point shooter in the league and late in his career.
The corner 3 is not a hard shot for a coordinated athlete. It is just not which makes me wonder if maybe you have trouble making the shot and are projecting onto others.
I would argue his greater challenge will be ball handling and understanding how to guard on the perimeter. On the block Omier will have an advantage over most NBA power forwards (not the freaks like Durant and Giannis).

Isn’t Omier from Nicaragua? Does he even have any experience at all with futbol americano?

Would be our third BBall player turned TE. Don’t forget Swoope.

I think both ES and JG were a bit more fluid than Omier. But why not?

Most likely no experience, and probably little knowledge of any about the game itself. Makes a potential switch to football even more unlikely mixed with the fact he has proven to be a **** good high level D1 basketball player

Typical CiS porsting, brother.

Omier is a stud BB player. Graham and Gates as you stated were not in the same ballpark as BB players.
Gates was an excellent BB player. Not a glass eater or as good on defense like Norchad, but was much more skilled offensively. Led Kent State to the Elite 8 his junior year and was an Honorable Mention AP All-American his senior year.

Being 6'4 is what did his hoop dreams in. If Gates were 3-4" taller, he might've lasted a decent amount of years in the NBA...
