Olivier Vernon is about to get paid

I'm not forgetting him bro I know he helped I'm just trying to individualize Olivier

Am I saying he is worth 15M per year? No. But if you can rush the passer (check), you are young (check), you are a good locker room and stay out of trouble (check), you are going to get paid.

The problem with the Dolphins is that they have the same thinking as you. Difference is, you are just a casual poster (or fan), the Dolphins admins get paid big bucks to not F this stuff up. And they consistently do. And they are about to do it again.

And I find it funny people are down on Vernon but not down on a 31 year old, washed up pass rusher who **** near admitted to taking last year off and not playing hard because "he didnt like the scheme". AND you rewarded him with 8.5M a year. You think its a coincidence he didnt take any other visits? He wasnt getting that kidn of money anywhere else.

Plus you really want that guy in your locker room sulking with Suh if/when things start going bad with the defense? (Suh had issues with the dolphin D and made it clear to the media) We call that double trouble. Good luck with that one!

But people are complaining about giving Vernon potentially 13M per? Ok. Smh. Thats Dolphin fans for ya.

You wanna talk to my dad who's an NFL scout for 21 years and argue with him about when he's the one who actually told me these stats you tard. I've made it known throughout who my dad is my whole time on this page and who gives me info but you guys still think I talk out of my ***. Oh btw he was in New York Monday

LMAO. I thought it was just me that thought this sounded crazy. Ok. Your dad is scout. Debate over!

There are plenty of NFL talent evaluators who think more highly of Vernon. That's why he's about to be paid a fortune.

Jerry Reese please do something right in your life...this isn't ducking rocket science

PAY DA MAN!!!!

He just got WAAAAY overpaid.
He's worth around $10M/yr. Not $17M/yr, thats just ******* insane.
He isn't Von Miller or JJ Watt.

PAY DA MAN!!!!
5 yrs/85 mil 40 mil guaranteed

Thought it was $52M guaranteed.
I must've heard wrong then, wasn't full paying attention I was loading someone on a stretcher. Still record setting deal for his position

We were both sort of right.
He has $52M guaranteed, but $40M fully guaranteed. He's guaranteed to make $29M this year, and $11m next year or something like that. then his $12M salary his 3rd year likely becomes fully guaranteed if he isn't released by the start of the 2018 season.

So the Giants front loaded the money??? That's unusual. That's how you should run a business, but everybody in the NFL back loads and ends up in cap ****. I understand why. They are all on such short leashes that they are constantly in win now mode.

That's been happening a lot. Dolphins have Mario Williams's contract the same way and restructured Byron Maxwell deal to be able to get out of it in 2017

With vets it does. Mostly because there is a decent chance that they will be injured or declining before the end of the contract. But not normally with the uber high priced younger players. Color me impressed with the Giants. I have always thought teams would be better off paying less in bonus money that spreads through the contract as a cap hit, and more in guaranteed regular salary in the first couple years. It makes it more painless when you have to move on from a player before his contract is up.

52 million guarandamnteed? mah goodness....he can buy us a IPF with his signing bonus alone.

so it's just a coincidence that 2.5 of his 7.5 sacks this year came in the 4 games Cameron Wake played as well as 23 of his 61 tackles. Also another 2.5 sacks and 6 tackles came against Baltimore Ravens... SO what did he do the other 11 games : 32 tackles 2.5 sacks...without including a goose Egg vs. Houston WITH Cameron Wake playing as the 12th game ( I would like to point out that was against Duane Brown at LT ) Pressures aren't production, it's just there to make DE's feel better about themselves. That like saying someone's a elite shooting guard because he shoots 60% from the field but averages 10 points a game

Everybody overlooking Suh help? Constantly consumed two (and some times THREE!!!) blockers and aided Vernon in getting near or to the Qb

Guess your dad ain't no sh5t.

Dolphins season ticket holder here...Vernon outplayed Wake by far last year. Wake ain't opening up nothing for him..he's an above avg pass rusher..with or without wake around he still will be. He's young, and not a head case as a dl. Dolphins messed up not resigning him low last year..I predicted th is two years back...Ov is hitting his prime..expect those sacks to go up not having to play Tom Brady 2x a year. He Is going to give the nfc east fits.

actually he got a lot of his sacks vs the Pats and you just agreed with everything I said, I just finished with he won't get any better and he's going to get overpaid...btw Cameron Wake got 7 sacks in four games so he matched Olivier's total in four games, still think he outplayed Wake.

Vernon is a beast. My Giants needed some help on the DLine BAD after dumbass JPP blew half his hand off, and Damontre Moore got kicked out of the house (ironically to the Dolphins). I'm actually more excited about the Jenoris Jenkins pick up, but like gogeta said, Vernon is hitting his prime. Hope he's coached up well.
