Trent Harris has a role on this defense right? I think he posssibly can play that role imo but at the end of the day it's up to the coaches. It doesn't seem like there are many rush end prospects that we are in it for right now

Exactly. Harris and Chatfield are very similar coming out of HS - sack machines with similar size and similar poor measurables (4.9+ 40) but can get to the passer. Not every college DE is going to be 265 guy running a 4.7 like Jackson. Heck one of our best rushers in history was a 250 pound guy with 4.9 speed (Medearis).

Every coach has missed on guys. That applies to Kool as well, but Kool is still the best DL coach in CFB, period.

40 yard dash time means almost nothing on the Dline. It's all about their 10-20 yard burst, first step, and power.

He did some good things and some bad things out there. That's what happens when you go against a bunch of other elite players. He has good film of last season though

The staff has the luxury of being picky at DE, we're loaded at that spot & they have the flexibility to be specific.

The thing some of you are going to have to realize is, Coach Kool is a specialist, Defensive Line is his expertise.

He has an illustrious record of developing 1st round & top level DL's, and did so at a middle of the road program like Mizzou.

Now at Miami, he has the luxury of unlimited resources & unrivaled tradition to support his efforts.

What that means is, he can be very selective with Offers & DL's he does or doesn't want, which means if we're not seeing interest in a particular player at that spot it's because he don't want'em.

Under the previous staff, it made perfect sense to question & 2nd guess their every move, because most of the time the fans were right, but with this staff, those odds are significantly decreased because these guys are true Pro's.

None of us know better than Coach Kuligowski, Idgaf how you try to slice it, Kool is the one guy on this staff that you simply cannot question.
