OL Recruiting

Anyone see Manny Navarro's Tweets on Tommy Kennedy. Looking like a mis-evaluated, overrated bust ... already.

I didn't see the Tweet, but if that's the case then a lot of programs mis-evaluated him because he had a few options.

Hardest position to recruit IMO are DL & OL, most of them play against inferior competition so it's difficult to judge. That's why you need a great
S&C program and good coaches.

Case in point look what Simpson did with Willis & Tito.

Willis was a 5* recruit.

There are always under-recruited kids who turn out to be good players. Its way to early to make a judgement on Nelson. The offensive line that was so good on the 2001 championship team were a bunch of no-names and included a walk on.

The Bold doesnt make sense for 2 reasons

1. We let 7 P5 level OL leave the region this past recruiting class. Not blaming Manny for this but its obvious we arent dominating OL recruiting in our backyard.

2. Zion isnt from South Florida.
Still annoyed we never pursued kaleb boateng. He was 6'4" 265, from the 954, and begging us for an offer.

You do realize that there only 11 scholarship O-lineman on campus right now. "manning the 2nd team line" is not saying much.

Which is pretty ridiculous in itself. You need 15+ OL on a roster. With 85 scholarships available, how can you only have 11 OL? 5 out of 22 starters (plus kicker and punter) are OL.

I can't see how they don't take 5 OL in the '20 class.

Boulware leaving was so ******* dumb. He starts easily this year and boosts his draft stock. Milo leaving was obviously predictable and Mahoney woulda gotten time too as much as he sucked. He woulda been good depth. Can’t lose 6 guys and only bring in 4 and 3 probably need redshirts.
