“At the end of the day, I took the job without knowing that there was an impending NCAA investigation and eight months into it, it blew up and it took its toll at the end of the day, and that’s it,” Golden said. “I haven’t looked back since. I miss the players. I miss the people that were supportive of my family and I, the people that were friends. But other than that we’ve moved on and now I’m looking after a new group.”

At the end of the day he's still accepting those direct deposit payments from the buyout at the end of the day. He can go die in a grease fire for still not accepting any responsibility. He really is the epitome of a JoePa disciple.....minus the actual ability to be a decent coach.

I hope he's relegated to the world of college position coaches after the Lions staff gets canned halfway through this season. Eff him and his whole schtick.

I'd be burnt out too if I was getting my *** kicked every game. **** 58-0, I'm sure that did the trick.

Yeah, Al, "it took its toll" so much, that you were more than willing to take a job at an exponentially worse situation.

Ok, so I get he walked into a situation that was crap, for THAT I gave him a 3 year pass. There was NO EXCUSE for our D playing as pathetic as it did week after week with the talent he recruited in year 4. Looking at our D-line talent now I just scratch my head. Had he dumped his scheme and played a D that fit his player's skill set, he'd probably still be here. That one single, solitary thing is what cost him his job. Stubbornness can be a booger.
 
To play devil's advocate, once he realized that his fraud caught up to him, he cemented residual income for him and his cronies. The NJ way!

He probably was burnt out, but he brought it on himself. Change that ****** defense, play commonsense football, the recruits come and we win with easy. ****, we won with an interim coach and a young team last year!

That c@cksucker just said he isnt a head coach already because he was an HC for 10 yrs and schools think he has been HC long enough
 
Golden was and always will be a pathological liar and the most inept head coach in the history of our program by far.

He 100% knew there was going to be an investigation.

In August 2010, Shapiro told The Miami Herald that he was writing a book titled, The Real U: 2001 to 2010. Inside the Eye of the Hurricane in which he promised to tell how Miami had violated NCAA rules affecting more than 100 players. "Once the players turned pro, they turned their back on me. It made me feel like a used friend," he said.

Al Golden accepted the Miami job on December 13, 2010.

His agent, Brett Senior, is one of the best in the biz. I guarantee you he vetted the job before Golden took it.

The NCAA scandal was the best thing to happen to Golden. It gave him the "cloud" excuse and helped mask his total ineptitude.
