Oh Gorlden

The NCAA scandal was the best thing to happen to Golden. It gave him the "cloud" excuse and helped mask his total ineptitude.

This.

And for those suggesting that "If He only fixed the defense, everything would've been fine", I respectfully disagree. The guy was just a horrible leader, pathetic motivator. I mean, who TF tells their team to "NOT rise to the occasion" before a Thursday night game...WHO?!

I'm sure beating a team like Cincinnati had everything to do with the investigations that ended 3 years earlier. Or literally the worst loss in our programs history. What a **** face

He's a total piece of ****, and I hope his stomach rots out slowly. He's a pathological lying bag of booty juice.

LOL at the dopey bytches who bought his "I didn't know about an impending investigation" line of ****. That was all part of his "woe is me" schtick where he constantly portrayed the UM job as garbage in order to make himself not look like an inept piece of **** for going .500 here.

Non-story for Canes community. He came here with intent to succeed by installing his variant of the "JoePa way" and it didnt work out. Remember, the BOT actually floated the idea to try and hire away JoePa from PSU after Johnson departed for the Cowboys.

No surprise another "JoePa way" guy (Caldwell), who also has a personal connection to Golden, hired him in to the Lions' staff.

Its part of the severance package for these "coaching executives" for buyouts...chaps the *** of the everyman sensibility (who don't enjoy same benefits), but its where the market is right now. Could you imagine Saban's buyout from Bama? The UGA boards (Im speculating) are lighting up with "out money is buying Miami's IPF". It is what it is.

Golden's shortcomings are well documented and discussed...he's gone...who cares?

All success to the new staff...Go Canes.

Golden was and always will be a pathological liar and the most inept head coach in the history of our program by far.

He 100% knew there was going to be an investigation.

In August 2010, Shapiro told The Miami Herald that he was writing a book titled, The Real U: 2001 to 2010. Inside the Eye of the Hurricane in which he promised to tell how Miami had violated NCAA rules affecting more than 100 players. "Once the players turned pro, they turned their back on me. It made me feel like a used friend," he said.

Al Golden accepted the Miami job on December 13, 2010.

His agent, Brett Senior, is one of the best in the biz. I guarantee you he vetted the job before Golden took it.

The NCAA scandal was the best thing to happen to Golden. It gave him the "cloud" excuse and helped mask his total ineptitude.

F**k him!

This. I still don't understand how the golden didn't know narrative managed to take hold.

Can't see any P5 school giving him another shot at being a HC. But if he wants to be an HC again, a MAC school will hire him.

Former NFL coach with previous college HC experience and ties to Florida recruiting would be an easy sell at any of the MAC schools.

... And I hope we put that school on our schedule after he's hired. The reception Golden would get will be worth the game ticket, by itself.

I wish nothing but failure and shame for this man. fug him and his butt friend NoD. Want to hear the excuse machine when we start winning with the same players he had

Just when I thought my hate for this man was moving on......Al you are a winner at being hated

LOL, he got 2 extra years and 15M out of the Shapiro scandal. He should have been fired after the 2013 meltdown and his cuteness with PSU. After his first game vs. Maryland, we knew we were in trouble.

I don't even have the inclination to rail at that sorry clown act anymore. The only way he is employed is because he got a charity hand job from a Penn State buttbuddy, in a completely different area than he had focused on for the last 10 years, namely offense. On the staff that is undoubtedly on the way out this year.

Like a venereal wart, I don't want to look or think about him ever again.

Rumor has it, there is going to be a gofundme campaign by the same people that flew the banners last year to fly a banner over the first outdoor pre-season game.

As deep in **** Caldwell is he plays the semi-nepotism card and hires arguably the worst coach, instructor, communicator and motivator across all sports. I'm hoping so bad that consistent **** show called Detroit Lions football, gets both their asses fired on goldies UM firing anniversary.
