And just to be clear, who here wouldn't love for it to happen today? Nobody is expecting a victory much less a game.

A *healthy* TVD gives the best shot to win, certainly. But he’s not healthy. He hasn’t been in a month. Him pushing to play against FSU and them allowing him to was a grave mistake and one that is not seen in hindsight. Anyone with eyeballs or any insight into the program knew that was a multi-week injury. And he clearly aggravated it vs FSU. If they held him out originally, he’d probably be ready to play today. But the setback will likely cost him the season. I’m not expecting him next week either.

A running QB can be a great equalizer, but Clemson has a massive advantage on defense vs our offense at every level.

I doubt you’ll see a single Clemson defender line up further than 10 yards from the LOS all day. Heavy dose of Cover 0/Cover 1 and confuse him with some zone, with 8-9 in the box. I think he’ll make some plays with his legs but the team is completely one-dimensional against any defense with a pulse. Brown clearly has a long road ahead of him to be a passer who can beat a team like Clemson. If we get 200 yards of offense today I’ll be pretty impressed.

I understand that but Jaccuri hasn't done anything to earn the job either. He had a solid game against against the 90th ranked defense in college football. I really don't understand why so many people are ready to write TVD off after that honestly. If he can do the same thing against Clemson then yeah maybe but it's to early to anoint him as the indefinite starter going forward for the future

If much rather have Tvd with a real OC and let JB get coached up, he needs a lot of work mechanically and with fundamentals. I would love to see him as a rs Soph more that’s a true dual threat. Not a crash test dummy slamming into the line every play. I’m thinking of the longterm reward.
 
I hear you @Cribby but i disagree to a degree. Go ahead and full steam ahead with Jacurri. My logic is, if he's HIM, you're only going to get 2-3 years out of him anyways so why delay it? He should be the starter the rest of the season regardless of how healthy TVD is.

Better to put a lot of stuff on film so he can have relevant game play to study in the offseason and not garbage time game play to study against back ups.

yeah and i'd rather have bryce young and saban but what we have is what we have. one player opens up the offense with his playmaking ability, the other has arm talent but creates absolutely no offense and is hurt and underperforming

love tvd but unless we get a new OC or unless he decides he wants to live up to the hype (because don't be fooled, he's also to blame for games like middle tennessee state and aTM) then he's really just another dude

Right. I think thats pretty much what i said. You beat Clemson on the road, to end their streak, a top 10 team, my experience in life, watching this game tells me, going back will be highly unlikely.

Uh, no, he might take an entire 4 yrs to get to where he needs to be. High ceiling, but his floor is lower than you think.

we’ll have a new OC.
 
There is ZERO upside to TVD coming back at this point. He’s not going to be close to 100% and it’s not like Gattis had him playing at a high level anyways.

Let JB get meaningful snaps and get TVD back in the fold for the spring with a new OC and fresh start.

Worst case, TVD leaves and you have a talented young QB with a few starts under his belt
