Can anyone sum this up? Could be more speculation I assume..

The only caveat is Al's wife, which loves Miami.

True dat. But, she also grew up 45 mins away from PSU's campus and worked in the AD at PSU. Strong bond.

Al's folks also live in Naples. Plus, the talent in South FL is second to none. He can still recruit Penn and NJ from here but if he leaves he'll burn all the bridges for him to come down to south Florida and recruit.

My pals do you really want a coach who will only stay at at U because his wife likes it here? (If that's true)

This. If he ever wants a MNC, it's not at PSU.

Not saying she wants to leave...just sayin' there are strong connections to PSU on her side as well.

Al knows he will never win a National Title. He can't even beat a team with 9 wins.

Perhaps his realization that a happy wife is a happy life is a valuable thought process that some on here do not possess?

This is the name of the game, rarely is any worthwhile info actually leaked. Just another way of boosting MB hits/traffic.

anyone? i am thinking with the interview and all he is staying. probably get some tweets from recruits today.

Perhaps Golden's discussions with Miami at this time involve more than simply raises or extension, but things that need to be improved that would make us as happy as it would make him.

Although the thought of Golden getting a raise and nystateofmind going on a killing spree would make for amusement on some level.

Well, CaneInsider.com reported Thursday night that Golden, a former PSU captain, has remained "quiet" amid reports that he is a PSU candidate.

Brandon Odoi, the publisher for CaneInsider said his beat writer, Brian London, spoke with a Miami trustee Thursday and the trustee indicated the Hurricanes could know today if Golden is staying with Miami.

CaneInsider is also reporting that as of Thursday night, Golden had not been offered the Penn State job.

**** Art Briles nipped the rumors of him going to Texas in the bud

Contrary to reports and rumors I am a Baylor Bear - 2013 Big 12 Champs

LAFF LAFF LAFF> That's a joke right? That is the WEAKEST denial I have ever seen. That is basically coach code for "The AD made me issue this "reassuring" statement for recruiting purposes which basically says I am currently the HC of Baylor, at least until I have been offered the Texas job".

Actually he got paid millions to win 9 games this year and get Miami through the NCAA investigation. He will also be paid millions next year to coach the team. The team's record, good or bad, will not decrease the amount of money he makes. I would imagine it does make his wife unhappy when he loses.
