Schiano is more cult leader than coach. He has his way with his guys, and the big time kids aren't going to put up with that stuff, just like the NFL guys didn't. He's a good 2nd in command, but can't run the show at a major program. He's a better fit for making a bad team look average-good.
IMO Schiano will not work at the U in 2014 and beyond. It's a different culture today with players in SOFL. Kids used to be happy for opportunity to get the ride and play football. Today, because of big money business, insatiable appetites by fans to win and the decision for the most part has shifted to a 17-18 year old who are in many cases on stage and in control. If you look at Schiano's history at Rutgers and Tampa Bay (1) University will not accept, (2) will have player issues (3) further hurting the program. The University will not work well with Schiano and whether he succeeds or fails, he's gone quickly.
I am just saying, there is a lot riding on the next few days whatever does happen in the end, and for those who think the U is going to simply hire a name thrown around on the board, you have to be kidding yourself. The University has over the years changed their priorities and post NCAA bull ****, they are going to be limited in who they would hire. In the end It's All About the U", its not "All About Canes Football".
