I think there is a good chance he leaves. He will have more resources, better facilities, and less expectations.
And NO chance of of repeatedly going to the NC...

The university of Miami will be quite fine if Al Golden takes the PSU job. I believe Schiano could and would step right in nicely. Great timing in this regard.
I will say this: If Al Golden abandons this recruiting class, I will never again call a kid out for flip flopping, changing commitments, taking benefits, etc. If its okay for capital, its okay for labor.
Schiano would be a TERRIBLE hire and would not step in "nicely".
Another terrible post.

The notion that Miami had a top 5 offense in 2013 defies logic. Shouldn't a "top 5" offense have a 3rd down conversion rate better than 35%? And how did that "top 5 offense" fare against ranked teams? IIRC, that site that he is linking to also ranked Whipple's offenses highly. We see where that got us.Yes, how dare I bring facts into the discussion. Keep telling yourself we had a top 5 offense this year. I'll stick with reality. He has to be trolling us.
no please seriously quote me more stats about total yardage and what happened in the "russell athletic bowl"
I wonder if PPG helps, as that is the most important stat. I think we were around 34 before the RAB.
I'll throw a name out there, Gruden but Jay Gruden. He's OC with Bengals and prior HC experience.
So Schiano accomplished enough to get hired by nfl team while golden won games at temple.
Ya all realize how bad Rutgers wAs? That Sciano did more there than Golden did at temple?
That Schiano didn't bolt Rutgers after 3 seasons?
That Schiano is a great Defense coach and surrounds himself at TB w guys like Butch while Doh'nofrio is still getting paid here?
Oh but Schiano is a horrible hire? Smdh at the buffoonery around here
Schiano is more cult leader than coach. He has his way with his guys, and the big time kids aren't going to put up with that stuff, just like the NFL guys didn't. He's a good 2nd in command, but can't run the show at a major program. He's a better fit for making a bad team look average-good.

Take out nfl part and show me how your opinion shdnt be same for golden.
Reasons he leaves:
Fan support: Let's admit it - we have a horrible fan base. If he took the PSU job he wouldn't have to beg people to attend games. They have an amazing game day atmosphere. (The other 359 days a year you're stuck in State College - but still.)
Doesnt have to make the big decision. He would likely be able to keep his bestie on staff for a handful of years if he jumps. if he stays and a miracle doesn't happen on that side of the ball, they are both in jeopardy.
Job security. Can skate for a few years on the NCAA sanctions excuse all while banking bigger bucks.
More $$$$ + all the facilities you could hope for.
Reasons he stays:
He's smack dab in the middle of recruiting heaven.
The cache of the program = exposure. He doesn't necessarily get off the coaching carousel by staying. it is a NFL pipeline job (if he can manage to straighten this **** out which he hasn't yet!)
He's not done. He has yet to accomplish anything of note and has been absolutely (p)owned by Jimbo (that should give PSU fans some pause. Just think what Urban would do to him. Repeatedly. Forever)
Promises made to players and recruits (weak - I know but for a man of his word.....this should matter)
They'll pay him anything to stay and by just flirting with the PSU job he has gained the upper hand enough to hold off the Fire Dorito crowd.
Did I miss any? I dunno. Just reading this I think he jumps and if we land someone decent I won't be completely upset but I'm just sick to death of the coachig carousel.

First of all, teams in the NFL make terrible decisions all the times. Tampa Bay made another terrible decision. This isn't something new either. See Chan Gailey, how many times did he have to fail? Teams will always make bad decisions.
Second, what did Schiano accomplish? 11 years at Rutgers, Zero Conference Champs and a 28-48 conference record in the BIG EAST. I am not saying Rutgers was a good program but it's not like he made them something great. He had one decent season where he didn't win the conference and went 11-2. His last 5 years at the program he averaged 5.2 Ls per season.
Third, what does it matter who did more at the prior program (Schiano v. Golden)? We're looking for the best coach available, not just one who did something more at the prior program.
I would strongly pass on Schiano.
Finally, any coach can surround himself with great coaches. That doesn't mean we need to hire this one to do that.
