I got a call yesterday. Source was another coach (not at UM). Rumors like this always come through the coaching community, so I took it with a grain of salt. But he said that Golden was concerned that the 2014 team (which is feeling the effects of poor 2011 and 2012 classes) would hurt his standing. His value is high now.

There is legit smoke here. If Golden leaves, I believe the first call will be to Rob Chudzinski.

Golden is a ******* loser!

Leave!

Keep in mind this is a rumor coming from outside of the Miami program.

D, what do you make of Golden's instagram post... I don't think he is the type of rubbing it into someone's face....

it was from his account, but probably an grad assist that put that up with access to his account.

I have heard that Chud and James have a good relationship. When Chud was here everyone at UM thought he was headed for coaching stardom. What a **** deal he got in Cleveland. Bet part of him thinks coming home isn't such a bad idea. Contrary to some posts, he was a good recruiter.

You'll can rip me to shreds, but I hope he stays. He is underpaid, relative to other ACC coaches. What D said made sense, he knows the next 2 years are going to be harder before getting back to where we need to be due to the 11 and 12 classes, but I still think he can pull this off, giving he fires Jethro and Dorito.

He leaves, we go back through the 3-4 year rebuild cycle all over again and get a coach that wants to use this as a launch pad instead of a destination location.

Just my opinion, and understand the negs that are coming, but just want some stability to the program.....

I agree with you.

If it does go down, I would love to see Butch come back as the D Coordinator. His eye for talent is JJ level or even better.

Coley should be thrilled to learn from Chud. He needs seasoning as an OC.

The same Chudzinski that was hated by his players at the Panthers and run out of the Browns in less than a year?

The same Chudzinski that has Browns players publicly saying the team made a mistake and that Chud was good to them?

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...ous-mistake-say-organization-is-a-joke-010214

And the Panthers didn't exactly hate him. Steve Smith just said that their offense suffered because Chud was "auditioning" for a HC job...never said he didn't like him, or even imply it. And the Panthers had 700 more yards in Chud's last year as an OC than they did this year.

Anyways, under Chud they went from the 32nd ranked scoring offense to the 5th ranked scoring offense in one year. I'd say he's pretty decent at what he does.

Yup. Don't know how some fans think going on a fourth coach in a decade is good.
