Someone provide a link or anything concrete where Al has said he is leaving. Anything in writing directly from Al saying he is even considering the move. Everything i have read says Al wife and family love the area. He raves about the area and how fertile the recruiting area is in South Florida. He feels like South Florida is paradise and never been happier. Donna and staff love him and the only negative is a few disgruntled fans who really don't support the program. Al is hear for along time and not one poster can prove otherwise. If you can show proof where it comes out of his mouth that he is interested in any other job, prove it,if not keep dreaming.

If the job is offered it'll probably be more than what Miami can match (which sucks) but that perception of "paradise" will quickly change. Coaches now-a-days follow where the money takes 'em, not recruiting areas.

However, if Golden does decline and stay, props.

I believe in Al, hope he doesn't leave. Don't know why everyone wants schiano. Decent job at rutgers but would be a down grade in my opinion, especially in recruiting

Agree 100%. Let PSU have Schiano. Give me Golden, a new DC (perhaps new OL and DL coaches as a bonus) and I'll be a happy camper.

It all depends on the next hire. Give me Strong. Al be gone.

Which could be hit and miss. Big gamble. None of us will be upset if Gruden leaves the booth, got hired, calls Kayaa, Yearby and Valentine etc. and says I'm here kids.

Its funny you bring up the gruden name jay gruden jhon younger brother is a good coach Ppl say hes in line to be a head coach in the nfl but his hart is in collage football..

That's why Golden needs to come out and say whether he's interested or not now.

Yes. I think Al has upside as head coach here. He obviously has work to do with the on field product, undebatable. The grass is ALWAYS greener with some fans. There are VERY FEW sure deals in hiring a new coach.

People parroting Chud is a sure deal is laughable. He has an offensive background that is plus, but there are zero assurances he would be able to run a big time college program. Petrino (good coach) is a scum bag and would likely be here for a 2-3 years tops and we'd constantly be dealing with rumors of him leaving. Hire Kirby Smart? How'd that work for UF, hiring a Saban disciple with no previous experience as a head coach? Butch Davis....lol. I highly doubt the admin would bring him back, despite the NCAA saying he had no roll in the UNC violations. Schiano by all accounts is a huge Dbag and would likely rub the handlers and SFL high school coaches raw after a couple of years. He recruited SFL as a Rutgers coach and cherry picked a couple kids a year, but it's a whole different ball game when you're the "man" @ Miami. Cristobal is a ****tard.

Look at a guy like Sumlin, one of the hottest names in CFB. He has produced great offenses but he's been the product of superior QB play his entire tenure as a HC. We'll see how great he is next year without Johnny Football.

QB play defines college head coach success. We've had a functioning ****** at the helm the past two years. Al has his faults, but the fact is so does everyone else. We'll be fine if Al leaves, but I have ZERO confidence that our next hire will be slam dunk better than Golden. Most will ****, complain and nit pick the next hire to death just like they do with Al.

Well put. Way to kill my buzz. Okay, Al can stay, but my God what about that horrible defense? I can't watch it another year and he looks a little like a deer he the headlights about it. Not sure he knows what to do. Have you ever walked into to something certain you had all the answers and suddenly discovered you were clueless. Al is doing great everywhere but there. Recruiting is getting better. You have to give Coley another year to show he has what it takes to coach. But the defense is from Al's insides and it just smells bad, really bad and getting worse.

I would like to hear Al come out and tell us something more than we are working hard on it. Rather, "we are going to CHANGE it to something that WORKS and I will make all coaching changes needed for that. Oh, and I am not going to Penn State "Are you kidding me!"

LULZ at the robotic "our recruiting class will be destroyed" responses from Al's Army. If we hire a great replacement like Schiano or Petrino, not only would they keep the class together, but they'd probably add to it. And all those recruits won't do you any good with the **** head defense we have anyway.

You think Kaaya might enjoy playing for a guy like Petrino who has a proven track record as one of the best offensive minds in football?

How is Schiano a great replacement again?

LMAO at the basement dweller Madden Hall of Famers here and their ridiculous fantasies. Yeah, Donna Shalala, while on NCAA probation, after having just spent 3 years of ****, 2 bowl bans, and a TON of money, is going to hire Bobby Petrino, who NO school will touch right now after the mess he left at Arkansas, to be our HC. EL OH EL. Butch Davis? Keep dreaming.

They will make a run at Chud, a guy with 1 year HC experience who was promptly fired and hasnt been in the college game in a decade and who people here complained about NON STOP when he was the OC. Schiano LAUGHED in our faces last time. If he goes anywhere, I suspect it will be back to Rutgers, another major program, and he stays in the NFL.

When are you people going to get it through your heads that this job does NOT pay even what a job at a place like Louisville or Baylor would pay. AG is like the 7th highest paid coach in just the ACC!!!

Be careful what you wish for. We will end up with some "up and coming coach", someone like Carey from NIU, or DeRuyter from Fresno State, and we will lose half this class or worse.

Funny how his "hart" is in college football, yet he's managed to never coach in college football. On a serious note though, please learn how to spell.

I will be honest, Al is our coach and he ain't going nowhere. You can rub your magic lamp, wish upon a star, rabbit foot, four leaf clover and Al will still be our coach. Cry like a *****,whine like a child, jump up and down and scream at the moon and still tomorrow Al will be our coach. Hows that for the truth! Here is another truth, not you and your lynch mob fans can change a thing,How do you like those apples? Biggest truth of all,I relish in your misery and all the other losers on this board.

He runs an actual defense that stops people, has the ability, unlike the sweat hog, to step in and fix situations if his defense struggles, is a great recruiter, a great evaluator, a very good developer of talent, and has tremendous coaching connections to hire an excellent staff.

Next question.

We don't need some fruity arts and crafts guy as our next HC.

And he's won on the college level about as much as Al has. A sure deal he is not. Not saying he's a bad coach, but you're in lala land if you think he's a slam dunk.

This fan base is awesome. I still remember the screaming about "Fire Botch Davis", "National Champs to Chumps", praying he would leave for Arkansas or anywhere else. Then he finally puts it together, and bolts, and the crying and whining was hilarious. Look what we ended up with then. Despite having a FERRARI sitting in the drive way, a team that was believed to be primed to make an MNC run, crawling with top notch NFL calibur talent, what big name coaches wanted this job? They even offered Wannstache a 10 year deal, and he said no. At the PEAK of our talent, the big name coaches werent interested.

My guess is that Schiano has to be #1 or 2 on that list. Golden is probably 3.

Golden would be a very obvious choice for them.
