That's really the only thing keeping me from wanting it to happen. That, and god knows who this school will hire next.

Golden leaving this year would be a DISASTER of EPIC proportions for this program. We are on the cusp of locking down the best class we have had in YEARS, and talent that we DESPERATELY need to get back to the elite level. IF he bolts now and that class falls apart, it will take a new coach years to rebuild those relationships and start stockpiling the kind of talent and system we need to get back to the top. Kirby Smart? Smart will land a 3+million gig in the SEC or Big 10 soon enough. He will laugh at us the way Dan Mullen laughed at us. UM can pay about 2 to a little over 2 million a year for a new coach. NONE of those big names you are all dreaming about will be coming here. Get ready for George OLeary or or someone like Carey from Northern Illinios. That is who we will go after. And we will be starting from scratch, AGAIN.

If Golden leaves, it would be MUCH better if he does it in a year or two, when he's reloaded the talent, and gotten us on a solid foundation that will be more appealing to recruits and any potential new coaches. Right now, it would be a DISASTER.

Chud will get picked up by an NFL team as an OC. He can also afford to cool his heels for a season or two if he wants. I really dont see how Chud is the Savior of the world all of the sudden.
 
Cane4life, I agree with you especially about losing recruits. This class would be tore to **** if Al leaves and our enemies will reap the rewards. Al, is not going anywhere,thank God.

Exactly! I don't trust the school to have a plan in place. If this goes down, the school must respond very quickly to hold this class together. No doubt, we will lose some kids. Chalk it up as collateral damage. But with a quick hire, I'm confident a majority of the class will stick.

The fact that PSU thinks they'll have this wrapped up in a few days makes me think that Golden is on their list. Eichorst's stammering and changing the subject makes me think he's got a special clause in his contract for PSU too.

Unfortunately, that's Monkey Boy's gig. This is going to be another of those heartbreakers just like when Duh' was a finalist at Temple, and they chose Matt Ruehl instead. When I see that gorilla-looking fck Schiano up there at his press conference being announced as the next PUS HC I'm going to cry like a baby.

Watch the sweat hog drag this out even though PUS probably already told him thanks but no thanks and try to get himself a raise from UM.
 
I just got word that Al's 9th pillar will be Jerry Slambuttsky's tumescence if he gets the PUS gig.
 
LULZ at the robotic "our recruiting class will be destroyed" responses from Al's Army. If we hire a great replacement like Schiano or Petrino, not only would they keep the class together, but they'd probably add to it. And all those recruits won't do you any good with the **** head defense we have anyway.

You think Kaaya might enjoy playing for a guy like Petrino who has a proven track record as one of the best offensive minds in football?
 
No... these kids know the game coaches come and go and if we get the right guy we should be able to keep most of the class and the guys that leaves they probly where gonna flip anyway...

Someone provide a link or anything concrete where Al has said he is leaving. Anything in writing directly from Al saying he is even considering the move. Everything i have read says Al wife and family love the area. He raves about the area and how fertile the recruiting area is in South Florida. He feels like South Florida is paradise and never been happier. Donna and staff love him and the only negative is a few disgruntled fans who really don't support the program. Al is hear for along time and not one poster can prove otherwise. If you can show proof where it comes out of his mouth that he is interested in any other job,prove it,if not keep dreaming.
 
If Mora felt like Brad had any doubts or any chance to get him,any loophole, Petrino would never get a shot. Petrino will never coach here to many character issues. To many young women down here in South Florida to entertain Petrino.
