Ted Hendricks is affiliated with two loser organizations. The guy deserves better.

I am hoping like **** that Hank makes the Falcons. Something tells me he and Ryan would make a good combo.
 
But I thought everyone here told me Chickillo was too slow and that is had nothing to do with being made 30lbs overweight.

NFL: Indianapolis Colts Most Exciting Rookie, Wide Receiver Phillip Dorsett - Sports - AllMediaNY


With the Indianapolis Colts reporting to training camp on Saturday, we’re going to breakdown the club’s most exciting player from their 2015 draft class, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett (first round/29th overall pick):

Measurables: 5’10”, 185 pounds, 30 ¼” arms, 9 3/8” hands

Timed Drills: 4.33 40-yard dash, 37” vertical jump, 10’2” broad jump, 4.11 short shuttle, 6.70 three-cone, 13 bench press

When Dorsett broke the 4.4 mark with ease you knew his stock would be on the rise. Not just one of the fastest receivers (96th percentile among WRs according to mockdraftable.com), Dorsett can run with anyone in this draft class and more importantly, the NFL. More than a straight-line runner, Dorsett also moves well when he runs routes (75th percentile in the 20-yard shuttle) and he can change directions well in small quarters (85th percentile in the three-cone drill). In addition, he provides some explosiveness.

At 5’10” and just 185 pounds, Dorsett is among the smallest pass catchers coming out of the 2015 NFL Draft, with short arms. His size, or lack thereof, will limit Dorsett at times. The Miami man does have average sized hands, ranking in the 52nd percentile.

Skill Set:

Judging by his timed numbers it should come as no surprise that Dorsett is an elite deep threat, a big play waiting to happen. His straight-line speed and ability to cut without losing much momentum, makes him hard to contain. At The U, Dorsett was able to get behind defenses whenever he wanted. He also tracks the ball very well and has proven to have very reliable hands.

As a route runner Dorsett enters the NFL a little raw and will need some coaching up in that department, especially when it comes to short and intermediate routes. While his 40-yard dash was elite, his 10-yard split ranked in the 58th percentile among receivers so he doesn’t get off the LOS as quickly as one would like.

With that said, here's today's practice notes:

Play of the day? My pick for the play of the day today actually didn't happen in 11-on-11, so perhaps that's cheating, but rather it happened in 7-on-7 drills. Andrew Luck couldn't find anyone open and so instead rolled to his left (remember, he's a right handed quarterback so rolling to his left is the more difficult one) and saw Phillip Dorsett, who was running a route across the middle, start to break open deep. Luck then threw a beautiful pass while on the run to his left that fell right into Dorsett's arms as he then took it the rest of the way for a score. It was a fantastic play by Luck, and if he can buy time like that in the regular season, Dorsett could have more plays like it as well by getting open deep.

Didn't all the football geniuses on this board tell me Dorsett can't run routes across the middle? Maybe it's because our coaches didn't know how to use him for anything other than deep passes.

I also thought I've been told that he's only a straight line speed guy and had no agility or lateral movement, but the article you posted above by an actual professional seems to contradict that.

Seriously, some of these guys around here with their agendas just need to use their common sense. Some of the comments I see here make me feel like guys watch 4-5 plays in a game and base their entire opinion of a player based on that. Kind of like Duke had a big fumble = overrated and always costing us games.

Colts believe Phillip Dorsett has superstar potential


Appearing on Wednesday's edition of the Around The NFL Podcast, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport relayed a sentiment at Colts training camp that Dorsett's skill set is essentially a carbon copy of Redskins deep threat DeSean Jackson's.

"They could not be higher on Phillip Dorsett," added Rapoport, who was onsite in Anderson, Indiana, on Tuesday. "I think they think they added a superstar."

When Rapoport asked a Colts coach if he was surprised they didn't address a porous defense with their top draft pick, the response was, "Well, no. This guy's that good."

That fact that we won only 6 games last year is mind blowing. I have never seen a staff so utterly clueless and incompetent when it comes to utilizing talent. This is so pathetic. This staff is truly a complete embarrassment to this program. I know I'm beating a dead horse here but WTF? How are these clowns still employed?
