Comparing Kaaya to Luck

“Night and day,” Dorsett said, comparing the two. “Andrew has total control of the offense. He helps you. Doesn’t get on you too hard. If you mess up, he’ll correct you and you’ll get it right after practice.”

Lol, comparing a true freshmen to a third year vet in the league, makes sense!

I'm sure he was being asked a direct question, but even still, it's corny to talk about Kaaya v. Luck on a number of levels.

1) Kaaya isn't in Indianapolis. Big believer in not speaking on people when they aren't near by to oppose you.

2) It's a dumb comparison. Kaaya was/is a kid. Luck is an NFL veteran, who has 54 games of NFL experience on his resume. One is obviously not like the other.

3) Dorsett was a senior last year. Disappointing to hear him rail against a freshman QB as someone who was supposed to be a "team leader."

4) He could have easily maneuvered the question by... a) speaking solely about Luck...b) speaking on the comparison with the qualifier of Kaaya being a freshman last year, which is certainly relevant to the argument.

So yeah, I don't get why he went there. He was probably one of the dudes that wanted Ryan Williams in there.

He went there because he was honest. You can give millions of reasons why he shouldn't have, but it is a refreshing change from the usual endless cliches.

If Kaaya is as mature as we hope, he will take this as motivation to be more like Andrew Luck and we get a better QB. Win/Win

If it isn't a stark difference from a true freshman qb and arguably a top 5 qb in the NFL then something is wrong lol

How you think Dorsett & the boys felt when they heard Al,Brad & Kirby saying the me guys are gone....that they are a better

team because those guys are gone.....

SO did TY sign a new contract, b/c the Colts could get a good 1st round for him which would make sense in my book.

I think it was a situation where the seniors knew a true freshman was not going to lead them where they wanted to go, hence why they wanted The KU kid. For one then they could have easily gone to RW once he was healed and for two older kids trust older kids. When I was a sr in High school our coach went with a soph, who turned out to be very good, however we knew he had a lot of maturing to do before he could lead a team. Sure enough, he made a few mistakes here and there and it really hurt morale. I think that is what happened, there were a lot of older guys, seniors, who thought the team was ready to win NOW. But when you go to a true freshman, who got there in the summer, its going to tweak the older guys. It will undoubtedly create a divide and its obvious it did. The guys that are still there and raving about the chemistry are the guys that know they have two more years with the same talented QB. So for them the future is bright. IMO its not really a knock on either. Not the former players or the coaches. The coaches did what was best for the programs future, and the players did what was best for them, they went pro.

Morris has the happy to be here kid in a candy store look.

When you think about it... Morris out of high school should have never even made it this far.

Cheers, Steve.

That Thurman Thomas comparison is the best one I've heard yet when it comes to Duke. Spot on.

Yep, it's nothing new. I remember when Eli got drafted by the Giants, strahan was very public about his dislike about the pick. He and his teammates wanted a veteran guy and didn't want to take their lumps with a rookie.
