Offense Depth Chart Possibility Heading Into Fall Camp

Ummm...the second team has little/no experience because they're all freshmen and sophomores. That's usually how it works in college football. You've only got 85 scholarships, it's almost impossible to have an entire two deep of experienced players.

We're much younger compared with 2016 though.

Our second team featured Yearby, Edwards, Berrios, Lewis, Dobard, Gall.

We're a couple injuries away from having several true freshmen on the field.

Donaldson is taking Isadora's place at right guard; other than that I predict the line looks the same as it did in the bowl game. 2nd team skill position light on experience no other way around it, thankfully not light on talent. Gotta ball at the end of the day.... #MeetMeInTallahassee

Also, that is an observation most definitely but not necessarily a criticism unless we compare against other teams; I would dare to venture we are not unique in having an inexperienced 2nd unit.

The WR depth chart is going to look closer to this...

X - Lawrence Cager / Dayall Harris / Evidence Njoku or Darrell Langham

Y - Jeff Thomas or Mike Harley or Braxton Berrios

Z - Ahmmon Richards / Dionte Mullins / DeeJay Dallas

Y'all do realize the OP said heading into fall camp

No, they obviously do not.

There's 3rd graders with better reading comprehension skills.

Regardless you still wrong because donaldson is entering camp starting at rg. Richt already said gauthier and linder will compete for starting center job and whoever lose that will battle darling for the lg spot.

Don't count out Gaynor and Herbert.

All I'm saying is don't be surprised when the depth chart on day 1 of camp looks kind of odd.

There will be plenty of motivation, competition and macho head games between now and the FSU game.

QB Rosier -- Perry

RB Walton -- Homer

WR Berrios -- Thomas

WR Cager -- Mullins

WR Richards -- Dallas

TE Herndon -- Irving II

LT McDermott -- Brown

LG Gauthier -- Herbert

C Linder -- Gaynor

RG Darling -- Donaldson

RT St. Louis -- Hillery

Bold denotes returning starter

pop quiz:

what does the entire 2nd team have in common?

Leaving Donaldson off and listing Linder as the starter at center, will be Gauthier easily, makes be happy you have no influence on starters.

Well sweet pea, considering Linder started our first 8 games at center in 2016 before getting injured, you may want to reconsider how crazy this seems to you. He's probably going to run with the 1s at some point during camp - might as well throw him out there early and let him sink or swim.

Perry won't start camp as the 2nd team QB. He'll likely start sat 3rd or even 4th team. He'll probably move up quickly, but no way Rick goes into camp with him #2 .

qb - Perry is the starter.

Rbs - Walton, Homer, Dallas

wrs - Richards, Mullins, and Berrios... Dont sleep on Harley b/c Richt wants a wr that can go across the middle. Thomas will probably be on ST

OL - don't know and dont care, but Donaldson is starting

It's hard to imagine a true freshman non EE going from 3rd or 4th string on day 1 of fall camp, to the starter in week one of the season.

Luckily for Perry, Rosier and Shirreffs have no talent so that's exactly what will happen.

Williams didn't play against Pitt but was used a lot against NC State, UVA, Duke after Darling got hurt. They were probably trying to protect McDermott at LT.

Anyway, both McDermott and St. Louis got beat like a drum against NC State (37:35)

NC State had one of the best DL in the country last year. They whipped every OL, including FSU and Clemson.

I swear half of the posters here are completely oblivious to college football outside of Miami. McDermott and St. Louis don't suck just because they struggled against an elite DL unit. By that definition, every OL NC State played got beat like a drum and was awful

If he's good he'll shoot up the depth chart rapidly. There's just no way he starts camp ahead of scholarship QBs who have actually practiced here.

Imagine thinking Harley will play but Thomas will only be one ST. The South FL bias is just funny, now I see why so many posters were crying over a project WR like Thornton committing to UF.

Thomas will start at WR and probably be another freshman All-American. Him and Jeudy were the best two WR prospects in the country last year, and nobody is more electric with the ball in his hands. Harley is good, but Thomas is just on another level.

Can't wait until the season starts so JT can finally shut the doubters up
