OC thread

**** no to Frank Ponce and **** ******* no to James Coley.

This OC hire needs to be an X's and O's savant. I could care less if he's allergic to recruiting. Let the rest of the staff recruit and let the supposed wiins that this new regime will bring us do the recruiting work.

Bring me a dynamic OC. Period. No out-of-left field hail marys
Yeah thats Coley thing. Not as strong as we want on X/O. Bendabaugh and Key are best thoughts so far.

I like the idea of Larry Fedora. Was a great OC under Gundy, was always considered a near elite recruiter in the state of Florida and runs a spread offense we all want. Whoever we get it needs to similar to what Richt did with Manny, give the OC full control of the offense, let him bring in his own coaches. That's why I want a former head coach or guy with a ton of experience, he also needs to understand how to run a recruiting board.
Nice pull. And he's free.

I’d be up for Bedenbaugh. He’s been around genius at the highest level.

I have my questions about Applewhite, but would LOVE to have a guy with HC experience who runs a spread offense and spent time around Kendal Briles.

@DMoney is it at all realistic to steal Kendal from FSU? That would be my top choice.

As much as I’m not a huge fan of Lame Kittens, he’d check a lot of boxes, knows how the Baga program is run (at least to an extent) and would be a great resource for Manny as he sets his foundation. Put two great years on the field and he’ll be gone, but I’m fine with that, we’d be off and running by then.

My preferred qualities/qualifications, in no particular order:
Aggressive and ambitious
Intelligent
Innovative
Has called plays for a highly efficient offense at a high level
Head coaching experience a definite plus
Young and energetic
Workaholic
Identifies well with today’s players, but also has the distance and gravitas to be a solid, strong, and demanding mentor

Not exactly the guy I'd want, but you're absolutely right. He makes a lot of sense.

He's Tom Herman's guy. They go back a ways. Saban thought enough of him to make him OC at 29. Played qb at a high level and runs spread concepts. A very competitive guy. I think he has all the check marks you would want. Hiring D'No is probably not why he should be a HC but he has tons of experience on offense and no reason to think he could not be successful as an OC here.

Bedenbaugh is realistic because he wants to call plays and move up the ladder. He’ll never do that under Riley. I’m less concerned about him not calling plays because he’s been working under a guy I consider an offensive genius.

LOL at dudes on her talking about *****in. Didn’t he turn down the LSU OC gig to take the fau HC job? Unless he hates it there I wonder how that dopey rumor started.

Because as you well know, with the exception of 5 or 6 guys, pretty much everyone on this board has been lobotomised

Graham Harrell oversaw the #12 passing offense (#29 scoring offense and #22 offense overall) this year.

His QBs completed nearly 64% of their passes. They averaged over 300 yards passing per game.
