OC thread

Give me Applewhite, and a new OL coach. Dugans, Hartley need to stay, Brown would be good if he is ok with the demotion back down to strictly RB coach.

Bendenbaugh as play caller. Let him bring in his own oline coach since it’s his specialty.

Ponce as QB coach if Manny wants him here.
Why people keep pushing this guy, what is his resume, what QB has he developed? Never heard of this guy til Manny got the job. Is this some Golden/Dorito, hey this is my boy get him a job BS. Why are we always the low level hookup school?

What QB and what offense he helped develop? I want to see stats/rank or never bring up his name again

K ya'll find me a OC who -

- Is an innovator
- good with QBs
- Great recruiter
- CAN RECRUIT SOUTH FLORIDA
- Ruthless playcaller
- can beat the athletic defenses in the ACC and SEC

Is there ANYONE that checks ALL of those boxes? and the Croot SoFLA part is non-negotiable.

I'm not opposed to having ponce be the QB coach and hiring an elite OL coach to be the OC as well. Even if they've never called plays. But either one of QB/OL coach has to be elite and when I say elite, they will be getting HC interviews within 2 years

Bedenbaugh is realistic because he wants to call plays and move up the ladder. He’ll never do that under Riley. I’m less concerned about him not calling plays because he’s been working under a guy I consider an offensive genius.

LOL at dudes on her talking about *****in. Didn’t he turn down the LSU OC gig to take the fau HC job? Unless he hates it there I wonder how that dopey rumor started.

Why? Who has ponce developed at QB? We havent had great qb development in years, why do you have faith in this guy?

Mike Yurcich
Matt Canada
Major Applewhite
Larry Fedora
David Yost
Graham Harrell
See someone is smart here as all of these are actually possible. It will be someone who has some experience but not someone the NFL or the Bamas of the world are after ( as we don't have the $$ to compete with those types )

There is 0 chance Diaz hires an OC with no experience calling plays. Plenty of OC out there with tons of experience.
I will give you one advising on one of the best offenses in America and he’s familiar.

Lets at least post reasons why the people you are suggesting would come here. Salary bump, step up in program brand, full control of O compared to partial where they are now.

Difference between kk and yost is. Kk went to big time USC. Yost went to what, Texas Tech? Usc oc aint ever leaving for miami oc. TT oc might.

It doesn't even matter who he "developed" because it was App freaking state. It all has to be kept in perspective. If he was such a savant he wouldn't STILL be a QBC.

The OC hire has to be selection that doesn't require mental gymnastics to justify. Given the makeup of the staff it's easily THE most important COACHING hire on this staff.

Frank Ponce CANNOT be the OC here. Period. There will be riots if that's how Manny chooses to start his regime here. You want to make him a QB coach.....fine, I have no issue there.
