I will say this. If Turnkey, Frenk, and Frenk's key administrators wanted to keep this process on lock down.....they are nailing it. We are completely losing our minds over this, and to be honest, this is step one of turning around the program. Although I am a fan and I want to hear news and information, on the other hand I completely respect how Miami is going about this. Chess not checkers. It looks to me that UM is finally playing chess.

What do all the names that have leaked have in common? They all have local ties. Random power 5 AD who we are talking to isn’t talking to anyone that gets back to Barry Jackson, or some random poster on a message board.

I wouldn’t even mention if I hadn’t received the message yesterday saying “he was getting annoyed with how things were being handled”. Btw I don’t get my info from that person but to be fair nunez supposedly pulled out the next day. At this point I don’t have an opinion until I hear the other side.

Who else? Julio Frenk, Echeverria, and Fernandez are the only people who know anything definitively from the school's side. For me, it is more plausible that the search is being narrowed down and the candidates who are eliminated were informed so they can go and pursue their career opportunities than relatively unknown AD getting quickly frustrated and withdraw his name.

There is also the chance of his current employers gave him a deadline to decide and he couldn't wait for Miami to finish their search. NM administration knows what is going on and it is conceivable that they demanded an answer now.

i agree, this is accurate. But doesn’t change the fact he wasn’t the top candidate and hadn’t been offered anything.

But Cribby, if it is coming from Nunez's camp, it's obvious to save face they are going to say he withdrew for ego and reputation purposes. He put his name out there on his own and when he doesn't get it, it makes him look like a rejected lover. Sounds like someone is bitter and trying to bury the school.

As I said before this reminds me of Houston Nutt sending out a media blurb that he was not interested in the Miami opening back in 2015. At least Nunez was actually a potential candidate.

Just to put things in perspective and provide food for thought for those who are disappointed with the "news" that an AD candidate was "frustrated" and told the school he was out: If Nunez wasn't form the city of Miami and had no connection to University of Miami, what will the fans' reaction be if they hear a relatively young AD from athletically underwhelming program will be interviewing for the AD job? Lets face it, he got interest from fans because he is Nunez from Miami with some connection to the media here. Not because of the program he came from or his achievements in the business.
