Now what ?

@Cribby - how do you fix all of this or what would you do to build the culture or business like approach. We know things take time and you can’t just flip a script.

if you have a blank canvas and we’re construction a program TODAY - or at the end of the year. What would you do? I know it starts with money and investing in the approach but I’d love to hear your thoughts?
Allowing Jeff Thomas back and not kicking a qb off that goes awol the day before a game isnt the way I’d build a culture. Jarren Williams gave zero ***** about football or winning, and didn’t hide it.

You let a kid back that was an issue his entire time here (JT) and flat out quit during the season. Then you come out after having a horrible season and blame the culture, and you’re trying to change it. No dude, you’re already creating one.

Allowing guys to make the same mistakes in games and not taking their pt isn’t having a culture. The kids love manny but don’t respect him, he’s the cool mom. That’s always been the issue with him.

Which is fair but we have all become experts in recognizing **** coaching and this has **** coaching written all over it. Maybe Manny surprises us, and regardless of any of our feelings he isn’t leaving mid season, so I’ll watch every game and drink heavily yet another fall.
Coaching is an issue , I’ve been saying that for a minute. Coaching is more than just X’s and O’s.

Agreed.
I thought Ed Reed would help in his GM role or w/e it's called, but it starts with the HC.
Feels like our players are intimidated by their opponent, and Bama players scared of their HC ripping them a new one regardless of the score.
I've seen fist bumps after drop passes, dancing in the sideline down big, celebrating TO down 30, giggling in team meetings, seniority take priority over talent, and so on.
That ish makes my blood boil. It's not getting the best out of your kids, or doing them any favors.
I told folks when this happened they were making way more out of this than what it was. It was a pr move to make up for them ******** up the Highsmith deal. It was a political move , nothing more. And it worked for the short term.

Everyone talks the talent at Bama , but it’s far more than that. That culture and the business like approach of the program is insane. Just look at when a player does something dumb , they’re up three td’s yet his teammates holler at time or slap him on the helmet. When you have a culture like that the kids police the locker room . Miami was like that at one time, if you aren't carrying your weight or hurting the team you’d get your *** kicked. At Miami now a player messes up and he gets a hug or love from his teammates. Manny has built a fun culture vs a business like culture.
100%. Bring out the TO chain and TD rings down 38 points? If Manny had balls he’s can that crap today.

Yes, Bama has the TO belt but I doubt Saban would allow it in a bad loss.

To me is seems like Reed is the fun/Manny culture, and Zo would've been the Bama/business culture. Manny couldn't handle an alpha in the room. Ed is collecting a paycheck.

Now what? Huge game vs App St. As has been the case for more than a decade, it's a needed win if we're to make a bowl this year. If we lose next week, Central Connecticut becomes a must win
What proof do you have the App st. Is going to be a big game? They lost the best QB they’ve had in years in Zach Thomas and are playing Chase Brice who we ******* destroyed last year. Do you intentionally go out of your way to post some of the dumbest **** I’ve seen on here?

Like where the **** do you come up with this ****? Michigan State is definitely a tougher game and we def could lose but Appalachian State? Log out.

And still, Sabans nickname Grumpy is there for a reason. They were up by several scores when they had to call a timeout because someone didnt line up right. Saban picks that player out and chews him out right in front of everyone. Every great coach was great at making his presence felt so that players would go "I better do my job, I dont want to get an *** chewing".

Manny would never do that. Not when you are down or up. No chance. I havent seen him get upset at a player, once.
Remember Dabo jumping off in the ol’s *** when we played them? We were down like 3-4 td’s. Manny tried to do that to Hill a couple years ago and dude straight ghosted him. Lol.

Lashlee stinks. Anybody that has ever been around the game of football knows you don’t beat Alabama running right at them. You have to stretch them out. Period. Lashlee just is not the guy. He has an entire year to gameplan for this game & he was smashing Cam Harris into the backs of his own oline. I mean it was absolute insanity.

Don't get emotional. App St is a huge game for Miami, as Miami is no more relevant than the App States of college football. The evidence for that is decades of never winning a mediocre conference nor competing for anything resembling a national championship. Log out.

You forgot to mention that the starters play against top talent in the Bama backup defense. Those guys are faster, stronger and more talented than our backups. They are in a different stratosphere with the group they have and they deserve it. They have been at the top of their game for over 10 years consistently.
Let’s build our coffers full of talent and we too will get better and play better. Get to the ACCCG and you will pick up the kids debited to home that are in the fence. That’s the answer.

I agree, but this culture began way before Manny..

These kids on Bama know Saban controls their future. They’re horrified of him because he puts guys in the 1st round every single year. You **** up your dream maybe over. You challenge him, you’re done. Manny? Manny is a friend. He’s the wannabe cool guy.

Coming into this game I said ten wins is what I expected , leaving the game nothing has changed. We went up in weight class and got smacked back down to where we came from. We‘re a light heavy weight that skipped cruiser weight . heavy weight and jumped to super heavyweight , then received the realistic result, knocked out with ease.

We faced a machine that has far better talent , coaching and culture. It’s a professional ran college program thats playing on a different level than anyone else. From the amount of money they spend in their program on down. That being said here’s what I saw.

Miami once again came out overwhelmed in a big moment , the staff and players couldn't handle the pressure of all the bright lights.

The tackling continues to be atrocious, just like last year we look lost in space.

We were very aggressive and brought 5, 6 and even seven guys but the blitzes are slow developing , obvious to everyone in the building because of zero disguise. Their qb was eating the pressures alive. They knew all the answers in pre snap.

Even though we ran more man we still didn’t allow our cb’s to use their hands like the talk had been, there was plenty of free release which will always put guys like Ivey at a disadvantage. Ts and Couch are easily the best cb’s.

Our front seven looked like a pac 12 defense versus Bama. We won’t be a big boy program until we get difference makers in the trenches.

Play calling on offense was atrocious early , another game where Lashlee came up small and coached scared. The slow developing runs leave me scratching my head, at this point he’s pretty good. Nothing more.

Going into this season I said the ol and de’s were my concern, well going forward I think the ol will be ok. They’re definitely better than last year. After Oluwaseun entered the game it was night and day difference, we had lanes and made pretty good pockets from the second quarter on. As for as Scaife goes , it’s over. He’s a backup and nothing more. As a whole the ol held up better than it did against some acc schools last year. I take that as one of the few positives.

I posted in spring Don was special, he’d ran away with the gig then he got hurt. He showed yesterday he’s a difference maker , he’s explosive and runs violent. Cam is what he is , a rotational guy, not a horse. I want to see more of Don ( we will), Rooster ( after suspension ) and eventually Brown. Cam has no lateral movement and goes down way too easy.

Wr’s were another positive , when given a chance they made plays , they were constantly running free in the secondary and we just couldn’t make them pay. Either the pocket broke down or king left early.

I love king but he’s limited as a passer. He still continues to cause some sacks scrambling , even if there’s a good pocket around him. He still has some of the same issues as last year.

Mallory still can’t block.

As for manny , we’re going into year three and that’s when I start coming to my full decision. What I know so far ? We show up flat most weeks, we don’t seem to be developing our recruits ,only the transfers seem to improve . We lack fundamentals and look like a badly coached team without discipline. At this point there’s no arguing this.

As I said earlier I still expect a positive season and this is a good team. There’s nobody we’ll face in the same stratosphere as Bama going forward , even Clemson. I saw enough of the o to think it’ll score a lot of points most weeks but will have issues against teams with better talent. So minus Clemson we’ll have the advantage on saturdays. If we can’t hit ten wins with this schedule there better be no extensions . That’ll make next year do or die.

The next few weeks will shed a good light on where manny and the program is headed , if we show up flat and uninspired like previous years after a loss then it’s safe to say we’re not improving , it’s just more of the same. If it’s the opposite then maybe things are going in the positive direction.

I try to be level headed and not too emotional on this stuff , that’s why I’m not taking too much from a game that nobody expected us to win, we were a 3 td dog. But I’m still not happy with things that continue to show up on Saturdays , issues we can’t seem to fix.

Now I’ll let everyone get back to losing their minds and talking Mannys replacement.
I still for the life don’t understand why for the 5th coach in almost 20 years our freshmen regress, it’s mind blowing to me!!! Forget about the coach, **** the ad and president should see that and step in. Over that time we may have had something like 5 kids get better from high school. I regress, let’s see how they play over the next few weeks, we will not play another team like this until the postseason. Get it together manny

I'd go with Brent as Watson was short-lived (2 years). Sure it got them a natty and over the hump but Brent, Tony, and Dabo have been together for 10 years. That helps create a constant in their culture. Just my 2 cents. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for another natty with an Elite QB but I'd more than welcome multiple natties with a constant coaching staff that lands enough elite kids to compete every year.

App St is our barometer now. I don’t care if we flush app st. I’m looking at Michigan St more as a let’s see what we do here

Outside of the game yesterday the rest of the games we won't have any issues. In recruiting if the player can't help you beat Ohio State, Clemson or Alabama we need to not take the commitment.
You been watching the canes the past couple years 😂😂😂😂

we won’t have any issues
