Rumor Notre Dame vs aTm...Impacts to Miami

Not sure I agree with how strong some of the takes here are, even putting aside dislike for any program. It seems some of you are willing to give up a coveted at large berth to ND just because it helps our strength of schedule? Not saying it’s wrong for people to think ND winning helps us, I would just personally rather see them go 9-3’ish.

Why do we hate TAMU? I went to the 2008 game at TAMU and their fans were awesome. They invited us to their tailgate, fed us BBQ and beer and were nothing but cordial in the stands. Having said that, a ND win vs an "SEC" team would be better for us.
I know some folks that went as well and said it was the best away game they’ve ever been to fan wise.

I hope ND gets destroyed, if we can't handle business and make it to the ACC Championship game then we don't deserve to go to the playoffs

I ain’t rooting for nobody on our schedule. Miss me with that. I’m rooting for Miami to handle their business and leave no doubt we belong in the playoffs.

Don't get it twisted tho, if ATM beats ND they will slide that mediocre SEC slop in the playoff at 9-3...

Unfortunately we need UF and ND to win this weekend. With the mindset that we beat UF next weekend. I am just concerned that we will lose a game (in the ACC) we shouldn't since history continues to show that. So having the teams that we beat....and them having those quality wins under their belts only helps us.

We all want both teams to lose on Saturday and TD Jesus to implode and fall upon the field engulfed in flames...

Short of that desired end state, what is the best outcome that serves Miami's interests?

- Want a decisive ND W over aTm for Miami to maintain "quality win" on resume
- ND imploding against aTm hurts our Canes in November
-- Eliminates (essentially) Irish from CFPO in week 2
-- Body blow to Miami's at-large chances vs SEC/B1G hopefuls

Again, **** the Domers, but as Canes fans we want them to beat the brakes off aTm on Saturday.

All of this is accurate & yet I'm not about to sit here & actively root for our opponents. We haven't done **** in decades.

I'm just focused on rooting for  us to handle  our business, which has been our 1st & primary obstacle. We do that & nothing else matters. If, at the end of the season, we need to rely on strength of schedule to get in then I can, begrudgingly, be happy those Dbags won.

Say ND goes 11-1 & we're 10-2 & ACC runner ups. You trust the committee to put us in ahead of them? Obviously they should but WILL THEY? Maybe we both get in but once you get a bunch of idiots with agendas in a room, they can convince themselves of anything.

"Early in the season doesn't mean as much". They'll just find narratives to fit whatever end result they want.

ND loses a ton. "That win wasnt all that great"

"Miami regressed during the season like last year"

"..I'm just focused on rooting for  us to handle  our business, which has been our 1st & primary obstacle. We do that & nothing else matters..."
Excellent point.

Miami has never done this since joining ACC.

Want to eliminate all cares about what everyone else does?

Win every game like most other ACC Champions have.
