Notre Dame AD: ACC did “permanent damage”

Frankly after the ACC saved their *** in 2020 and allowed them to be part of the conference to play during Covid and they have the balls to react this way to the ACC for advocating for one of its member institutions over an independent ND? They must be out of their **** minds. The ACC is the ONLY conference willing to put up with their bull**** and they are going to bite the hand that allows their Olympic sports team to have a home?

Phillips was much too classy. It's a million to one shot, but if Phillips does want a chance to be a hero and save this God forsaken conference, he can make one last try to get them in the conference full-time. Just give facts - ND will have a difficult time getting a playoff worthy schedule without joining a conference as everyone is going to 9 conference games and the ACC has tilted revenue sharing based on TV ratings. They're not getting that with the $EC or B1G.

Totally agree.

I think the reality is that ND now knows they've officially been put on notice by the Big Media power structure. Join a conference or be relegated. They know that cannot attack ESPN/ABC/Disney so they're trying to leverage their ancillary partner, the ACC with threats. Sadly for all of us, the ACC is already part of the ESPN/ABC/Disney structure.

If they really want to take down the SEC/ESPN establishment, they need to leave the ACC and join the B1G as a full member. Get the power of FOX and NBC.
The B1G can probably get the ACC and the B12 on board with whatever they want (that's fair) and that's the only way to counteract the SEC/ESPN bias.
B1G should have went after Miami/FSU earlier to get into Florida and maybe a few Carolina schools. Go to 24 teams and counter the strength of the SEC.

Keep the faith, mi amigo. ESPN's lawyers ain't gonna lock us in the ACC jail and throw away the key

Canes getting the SEC/B1G promised land.

Sooner rather than later

I mean what he said about the process being terrible is true.
And at least he DID SAY it wasn’t about the schools picked. He said that if they never had any rankings before the final one he wouldn’t have really had a problem given the teams picked ahead. But he did say he thinks 16 teams + 5 AQs is what makes most sense… but let be real they are all mad they didn’t get treated like a princess who would just make it over Bama and Miami BECAUSE THEY ARE NOTRE DAME….

Didn’t see interview he said anything about ACC specifically. So I’m sure that point was bs.

The delusion of some ND message board fans knows no bounds.

They're fully convinced the Irish could walk away from the ACC tomorrow and the B1G would gladly agree to the same sweetheart deal Jim Phillips delivered.

"The ND brand is worth way more now than when the ACC deal was made"

There is zero chance — and Notre Dame's administrators know as much — that the B1G would bend over like the dummies in Greensboro did 11 years ago.
