Notre Dame AD: ACC did “permanent damage”

At the end of the day...

- Committee attempted to corruptly elevate Bama at expense of Miami, BYU, and ND
- Committee never imagined nightmare scenario unfolding...SMU loss + BYU loss + UVA loss + respected voices saying "this is bull****"
- Committee then chose, in its self-interest, to elevate Miami (de facto ACC champ in their rationale) vs the others while still preserving their corrupt Bama (SEC) bias
- Committee attempted to use JMU + Tulane "protocols" as top cover...obviously not working
- For the first time ever, ND doesn't get a call to go its way and there are Veruca Salt-esque meltdown videos across the Internets
- ND would do several ACC teams a favor by making good on implied threat and just leaving...the quicker Miami finds a home in SEC/B1G, the better

Massive points for the Veruca Salt reference. Accurate.

Can someone explain it to me like I’m 5 years old why ND is so ****ed at the ACC? They barely lobbied for us minus ACCN replaying the aug31 game (savage by the way).

Seems like their anger should be directed toward the SEC/ESPN media monopoly?

Aw, little Petey is butthurt. You know the domers aren't going to the big 10 where they might have to play a few tougher games. So, Petey just shut up and go away.

The SEC/ESPN media monopoly successfully convinced Notre Dame that Miami was their true enemy, and they fell for the banana in the tailpipe.

That, plus they are [clutches pearls] OH-ffended by the efforts of the ACC and Miami to remind the CFPC that one of the primary written guidelines is to consider head-to-head outcomes in ranking teams.

Unfortunately, ND has chosen to pitch a hissy fit against the conference that gave them shelter during COVID and to blame us instead of the obvious SEC/ESPN media monopoly that gave the SEC teams FIVE of the Top 9 CFP slots.

Figure it out, Notre Dame. You're supposed to be smarter than this.

My last post on here. ESPN/SEC is too big to fight out in the open. That's why Pete didn't talk about them in the interview. There is stuff going on behind the scenes there, though. We all know ESPN/SEC collusion is the real problem with college football. We just have to be smart about bringing it down. Will you guys and the remaining ACC teams get caught in the fallout or will you help? We will see.

Well you sure as **** aren't going to win that fight behind closed doors, and publicly picking your fight with the ACC is turning into a terrible look. You are an integral part of the corrupt system, playing outside the lines of everyone else. You have lived by side deals and backroom agreements.

Your fight isn't with the ACC. You don't play an ACC football schedule. Though, if you did, you would have likely been in the ACCCG with a chance to settle this once and for all. Attacking the ACC for not stopping everything to crown the team that doesn't play in its conference is a wild take.

This shrieking in the media and going scorched earth is revealing a bigger problem for you-- no one cares. It's not 1988 anymore. The world has moved on, and your leadership is only creating more distance.

Sure, the B1G will take you. You're a fit there, but you will encounter the same thing. You can't have a different set of rules, and they won't stop everything they're doing to make sure you're OK first.

I'll believe when I see it. If so, it is amazing how this supposed snub has made the Domers go insane.
First it devastated the FSU nation. Now it's going to send ND to the crazy house. Who is next?
Let them exit the conference. Who gives a ****. Now they have to find a bunch more games with the college football landscape changing and most conferences going to 9 conference games. See how easy it is now to get a decent schedule.

And even with all of the absolutely terrible (terrible!) things the ACC did to poor notre dame leading up to the playoff selection, the committee STILL had to rewatch and pick apart that entire game before giving us the nod, as opposed to simply honoring the h2h winner as they had done in every other similar ranking scenario.

Maybe next year the committee can clear up some of the ranking controversy by incorporating a new data point- ***** Factor

Perhaps in a few years, there will be a brand-new CFP scandal the screws over The Gator.

Then my life will be complete.

They don't have to. Per usual, Notre Dame gets to have their cake and eat it too. They can have all of their sports except football play in the ACC, and then cry about how their "independent" football team is at a disadvantage and weasel their way into an automatic playoff bid (usually as a top seed) for finishing in the top 12.
Power 4 needs to black ball them in scheduling then.

Lying *** piece of **** little ***** Jim Phillips with a nice PR statement in response.

Frankly after the ACC saved their *** in 2020 and allowed them to be part of the conference to play during Covid and they have the balls to react this way to the ACC for advocating for one of its member institutions over an independent ND? They must be out of their **** minds. The ACC is the ONLY conference willing to put up with their bull**** and they are going to bite the hand that allows their Olympic sports team to have a home?

Phillips was much too classy. It's a million to one shot, but if Phillips does want a chance to be a hero and save this God forsaken conference, he can make one last try to get them in the conference full-time. Just give facts - ND will have a difficult time getting a playoff worthy schedule without joining a conference as everyone is going to 9 conference games and the ACC has tilted revenue sharing based on TV ratings. They're not getting that with the $EC or B1G.
