North Dakota State RB CharMar Brown commits to Miami

Unfortunately there isn't a portal offer tracker like there is out of HS. But The former UGA Rb Robinson in the portal was brought up here as a guy we looked into. This dude. I Think I recall one of the Cal RBs as having been contacted or the NCSt Rb or something. Plus Charmar Brown was talked about like 2 weeks ago.

Why does winter portal matter, when this is about spring portal? What did we enter spring portal period as wanting to add. That's what matters, and RB was on that list. TE never was discussed or mentioned on a podcast like one time from what I recall. I know for **** sure I remember D$ stating on multiple podcasts that depth RB was a desired add. But I thought we were also rumored to have been in contact with a few RBs over winter anyways like Bothwell, Star Thomas, CJ Donaldson...

What you think and what the staff DOES may be very different. But that could very well be as much or more about whether the PLAN succeeds or fails. Not whether that was the goal.... Which is why I'm saying the goal very obviously has been to add another RB and Lofton to be TE1.
THE REASON WHY THE TIMELINE MATTERS IS BECAUSE YOU INSINUATED THAT I KNEW IT WAS THE PLAN ALL ALONG TO ADD ANOTHER RB, WHEN THE DISCUSSION OF ADDING ANOTHER RB WAS SCOFFED AT WHEN IT ORIGINALLY CAME UP.

Every RB prospect you mentioned, are players that RECENTLY came up in discussion, you know what RECENT means don't you?

WHY DOES WINTER PORTAL MATTER?

BECAUSE THE ENTIRE CRUX OF THIS FUXKIN CONVERSATION IS BASED ON THE PREMISE OF YOU SAYING THAT I KNEW ALL ALONG. HOW WOULD THAT BE POSSIBLE IF THERE WASN'T ANY RB'S BEING PURSUED UNTIL JUST DAYS AGO??????????????????????

HOW WOULD I KNOW WHAT THE PLAN WAS, WHEN THERE WASN'T ANY INDICATION THAT THEY WERE PURSUING ANOTHER RB UNTIL NOW?????????????????????????

Why aren't they pursuing any TE's... BECAUSE THEY ALREADY SIGNED 2 IN THE WINTER PORTAL.

Nobody's crying. I'm responding to Calinative because he's presumed that I knew what the staff plan was at RB all along, when that's not even remotely possible.

I've been in favor of us adding another RB since December, that sentiment was met with quite a bit of pushback & the narrative was that Lofton was going to be RB3.

So up until 2 days ago, it was not a sure-thing that we were bringing in another RB.

So I asked D$, I thought Lofton was supposed to be RB3 (which is something he's stated all Spring) & he himself said he thought that was going to be the plan.

And now, I'm asking for evidence to support the claim that it was ALWAYS in the cards that we were going to add another RB via Portal, because before ChaMar Brown, there simply wasn't anyone that the staff offered or hosted for a visit over the span of 4 months.

But somehow, I knew all along that they were going to add another RB.

Now that you're all caught up, do you understand the context of the conversation now, or do I need to explain it again using finger puppets?

I suspect you're going to need the finger puppets, friend...

Certainly not by me though. We have been pretty heavily aligned when discussing RB in general here for the past year plus tbh, from what I recall.

Sure thing, no. Want? Yes. But thats the difference between succeeding or failing to execute the plan.
For example, It seems obviously the goal this Spring was to get a TOP WR. We failed at that (at least unless something crazy happens). Would you say that this Spring getting a top WR wasn't the plan because we never even brought in a top WR on a visit? Like I don't think the plan was to add three WR4-6 types... That's what the execution is ending up being because we failed at luring a top guy here. And ultimately we need that at the minimum just for depth - same with RB. Now obviously the big difference here is in WINTER we definitely targeted top WRs and had them visit.

D$ has absolutely said multiple times on podcasts that the staff wanted to add depth RB.
But somehow, I knew all along that they were going to add another RB.
Okay, sure you didn't know staff wanted one lol. But you knew we needed one regardless what staff was actually going to do...

The plan was always to add a RB for depth, but it was definitely up in the air whether we would be able to add a proven back like Brown as RB3.

I personally would’ve bet against it because it’s hard to convince runners with production to sacrifice carries. I would’ve guessed we added an unproven RB5 with upside and relied on Lofton and Pringle as RB3.

If Brown had picked California or Nebraska (both were close), I think we would’ve ended up there. This situation is a lot better and safer.

Bro Everything regarding the Spring Portal has happened in 2 weeks cause it literally opened on the 16th. Nakos reported Brown was entering the portal that same day. The first post about him on here was the 21s from Gaby saying He was scheduled to visit us on the 22nd, Which means we were clearly in contact with him before then.... So like the Recently thing.... everything is recent when the entire timeline for the portal is so condensed.

my view is, last year with that porous Guidry defense, Miami had to play in a bunch of shootouts. There weren't all that many games where they could just grind the clock and ride the run game

If this years defense is markedly better (knock on wood), there might actually be more carries to go around at the end of games

Okay? Did you think you accomplished something with that post haha? I simply pointed out that it would be difficult to convince a significant RB to come here. Does @DMoney also need it explained with finger puppets? Because he thought the same exact thing, as did the majority of the board.

It turned out I was right too. Even though we had the most competitive offer, it still was a dog fight for Brown because those schools guaranteed more playing time

Also, I only responded to Memnom because he having a little bit of meltdown for no reason. The staffs plans change constantly. At the day, our offense got a lot better with Brown

We still ran for over 2,000 yards. I don’t expect that to drop.

Okay? The staff was always going to monitor the RB market because we didn’t have a lot of depth in that room. However, it was never high on their list. Brown entered, and the staff went after him. Like why does that make you so triggered?

Really hyped when I saw this news. As we’ve seen in recent years, you can never have enough quality RB’s with all the injuries at that position.

Gonna need the puppets.

Cam is a Top 3 Cane, but he left a lot of yards on the field by not just running (or even just jogging) or easy no-contact first downs.

I hope Beck will take advantage of more of those opportunities. The more a QB does that, defenses will prioritize run defense and make it easier to throw.

Forget the finger puppets. You're gonna need a brick in hand to smash your head in dealing with the reading comprehension here. I got called a prick for basically saying I didn't care about an FSU player's fate. Seems like I was getting attacked for wishing ill on him, which if you take the time to read the **** post, no such thing was said. C'est la vie.
